This is an absolutely magnificent and wonderful knife shop. If you’re a professional chef or even an amateur chef, this shop is worth a special trip. You’ll find a variety of knives, mostly Japanese, and a variety of other cooking items, especially tools of precision. The team of staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended! Also check them out for knife sharpening. The bad? It's not very close to my home.
Phenomenal customer service, ask for Mr. Harrington. He enjoys his worknand he does a phenomenal job of it. Very warm and receptive, and his quality of work in regards to sharpening is beyond compare.
Recently had 10 various kitchen knives sharpened by Maxim. Quick service and the quality of the job was first rate. No hesitation recommending and returning when the need arises.
I have mastered my potato cutting skills from this store. 10/10 would visit again
I had my son’s knives and a couple of mine sharpened by the House of Knives. All employees I met were very knowledgeable and customer service oriented. Dhawal Savaniya took time to explain all aspects of the sharpening of knives and how to care for your knives. It was very educational. Needless to say we were also very happy with our sharpened knives!
I've been coming to this location relatively regularly over the past two years for knife sharpening services and for purchases. The young man who regularly works there is very passionate and a kind individual, and his passion for knives makes me more interested in what he does and makes the experience much better. Today's experience was quite disappointing on the other hand . Upon arrival and giving the man behind the til Omar my surname, he felt the need to try and pronounce it, all the while butchering it .After noticing my reception to this unnecessary interaction, he said something along the lines of "excuse my colonial tongue" . After receiving my knives, and wanting to test out the sharpness, I noticed that the knives were quite dirty from the dust and in a condition much worse than I brought them in .I let them know my concerns about this matter, and instead of apologizing, Omar felt it to be necessary to let me know that he expects the knives to be clean when they are brought in to be sharpened in the first place . I'm assuming Omar is the manager of this location, since I see him there every time I pass by. I expect better customer service from him, and better monitoring when it comes to the service.
Excellent sharpening services and great prices. They are done in a short amount of time; often sooner than expected. I have had all of my knives sharpened by them and they are like new!
To begin with, all too often people only put pen to paper to complain, and at times rightfully so. I'm retired now but my career was business management in a large international corporation. One of my passions was and still is customer service. It is the one thing that can completely differentiate your company from all others. I have been a customer of your company for many years. About a year ago I purchased a straight razor from your store in Park Royal, West Vancouver. Today I had the misfortune to drop it in the sink and it broke apart German made steel. Now I did not keep the bill so I just took it back to the store and said I'd like to purchase another razor like this. The gentleman then said, let me check into this and made a phone call and came back to me and said your company will cover it with warranty. I was astounded, I had not asked for this as I didn't keep the bill of sale. One thing that I was totally impressed with this young man was the way he actually did this with sincerity with the objective to look after a valued customer. As a contrast, another experience. My primary hobby is cooking, I am passionate about it. I was a dedicated customer to one of Vancouver's premier cook ware companies. Over the years, I spent a lot of money with this company on high end cookware. Recently I bought a high quality garlic press. For some reason it came apart. Now keep in mind they all knew me. I took it back and the clerk asked me for the bill, now who keeps a bill for a garlic press that was obviously bought at the store. Bottom line, no bill too bad. Now for the sake of $30 garlic press that failed, they have lost a customer that spent thousands on cooking equipment and I can tell you, a tremendous amount of negative advertising from yours truly. The treatment I received today with your company is a stark contrast to the aforementioned experience today. You have a life long customer and you will get a million dollars of positive advertising from me for years to come. And why have I taken the time to thank your company? Because of a great employee of yours at the store at Park Royal. His name on the bill is Jackson. he should be commended. . Thank you from a grateful customer Doug G
Young lad helped me out with sharpening my meat grinder blade and was a professional and knowledgeable employee. He did a fantastic job and was very quick with the work. The store in Cap Mall closed I would recommend this for all your knife and sharpening needs.
I’ve loved House of Knives for many years. I always have an enjoyable experience when shopping there. Thank you Omar, at the Park Royal branch, for being so approachable and very professional. And most of all patient with me and my many questions. I’ve learned a lot and have a whole new appreciation for knives and a need to own more !
