We use to come to this location very often, however the food quality has gone down. Since covid, the menu has changed a bit. The weirdest thing is that they have claw machines located inside their restaurant. I understand it's a way to attract the children, but at the same time, it doesn't match the environment. We always order their steamed dumplings with soup, Shanghai stir fried noodles and ma lan tou. It's located inside Golden Court Plaza. It's difficult to find parking spaces, as there are many restaurants, tea shops and offices inside the plaza as well.
6 XLB for 3.99, really cheap and really good. They give you everything in one time use containers though. The atmosphere leaves much to be desired but for a cheap Chinese food place this was exactly what we expected. We recommend the: 1. Regular XLB not fried, it is much more expensive 2. Shengjianbao
They closed during covid and have since reopened. There are some similarities to the restaurant it was before closing, but there are major differences. It is now focused on take-out. There are tables to eat there, but it's almost awkward to do so because you have to take your food from the counter and then sit at a table. The menu is very limited compared to what it was before. The food is still decent though. It was one of my favorite places before they closed. Update: I was there recently and the atmosphere has improved considerably. There are now multiple carnival type games and you can get coins from them to play. They also now have a party room and package.
Pan fried xiaolongbao‍the moment I opened it, the smell of oil was coming. While the skin is perfectly thin and the filling is decent with lots of meat juice, overall it’s way too heavy and greasy for me those hanging huge dolls are kind of scary, dimming ceiling lights and lights from the catching machine… The ambient is really weird, Chinese cyberpunk? The washroom is a mess. The food are not terrible, but the business is really off point
Good value and delicious food. They have a relative a small menu and the service is fast. I ordered on their website and went to pick up within 10 minutes. We love the pan fried buns and juice dumplings. Follow me for more food adventures on Instagram at @maggielicious.to
I always stopped by Juicy Dumplings when I’m in China town as I love their San Jing Bao, not long ago, I realized Shanghai Dimsum in Richmond Hill is actually the same store as Juicy Dumplings. This restaurant in Richmond Hill has been around for a long time and it’s known for the good price and good taste. They used to open for breakfast with good variety at unbeatable price, but they closed the store for several months during pandemic and now their operating hour is from 11am onwards. They no longer offer a full menu, they now has limited choices but most of my favorites are there so I am good. Price is slightly higher than the downtown branch but taste is consistent. Do not order their onion pancake because they deep fried it and it is very greasy.
True rating of 3.5 to maybe 4. There are endless options here of food to get. From your standard shanghai dim sum to full dishes. Everything is flavourful and in a good quantity base. Side note..parking is really tough here as its a plaza filled with other competiting restaurants. The pricing here is also fair. A good place for large groups surprisingly a lot of large tables and good for small families as well.
It was such a delight to revisit the xiao long bao restaurant after such a long time since the pandemic. Their updated system and focused menu on juicy dumplings truly impressed me. The dumplings were incredibly juicy, and I loved that they weren't overly salty. The best part was the unbeatable price; I couldn't believe I had such a delicious meal for around $10! For two orders. Even fast-food chains can't match this value. I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking an affordable, quick, and utterly delicious meal. Go check it out!
XLB $3.99 for 6 pieces is cheap and tastes very good. I wish the owner makes it clearer that it's really a takeout place. The menu is very limited. I had to buy bottle water felt lucky that I bought the last two.Food: 5/5
Price of xlb increased $1 before tax, but inflation everywhere it's understandable. Love their steamed pork buns and pan fried pork buns. The rest of the menu is okay. The wonton is okay, just like what you would expected. The red sauce dumplings or I don't know how you should translate it. But I was expecting that to be spicy as it should be, but it was sweet. It's still good, but not what might be expecting. Please feel free to follow me on IG & YouTube: Mandilicous Tiktok & Fb: Missmandilicous for food & lifestyle posts in GTA
