First time here and we both really enjoyed it. We ordered their burgers as pictured and both were cooked perfectly. Juicy, full of flavor and the fries were crispy outside and soft on the inside, mix that with their delicious gravy and you have a perfect pub meal. Ordered a spicey ceasar along side of it. Service was spot on and staff was friendly and welcoming. Prices were very reasonable and the environment was exactly what we wanted to enjoy this meal. Will definitely be back!!
Went to the shaker for the first time. Had the small nachos which were good and perfect for 2 as an appy. Had the burger with the pineapple in it. I enjoyed it quite a bit. My side salad was disappointing with dressing the tasted closer to olive oil then dressing. The fries were chewy, which was weird. Other than that, our server kept busy and points to the manager who recognized the need for assistance and stepped up right away. All and all not a bad time. Loved the vibe.
It was my first time coming here, and I was not expecting the vibe to be that hype on a Friday night. We got seated really fast, and the bus boy was very friendly. We also got drinks really fast, and we loved that they have daily drink deals. The food came really fast as well, and the servers were all very friendly. The red tuna mango tartare was delicious and filling.
I ordered the brie and it wasn’t good. The cranberry was too sour and the ratios were off. I asked if it came with bread and was told yes. When it arrived it came with one small piece cut in half. The poutine was good though and the server who was also bartending was super attentive. I just didn’t think it was worth it. As well, the atmosphere was confusing because there was music playing and different music videos on the tv.
Burgers were amazing, poutine and fries were delicious, and the drinks were like heaven definitely will be back
It was ok, but really just that. Definitely over priced, and service sucked to the point where we never got seen more than once only to take our order. We even had to go to the front hostess to ask for the bill since our server was nowhere to be found. Drinks were decent, and food was ok. Nothing spectacular here, and I would suggest you keep driving to the next best place.
When we arrived for our reservation we were seated and waited over 20 minutes for our server to come and take our order. We ordered the small nachos as an app which arrived before our drinks total time at 30 minutes from arrival. Nachos were burnt and soggy at the same time. After getting our drinks after we finished our nachos we proceeded to sit for over 30 minutes before our server asked if we had gotten our food yet. With empty glasses and no food on the table. We were never asked about another drink and when he brought out our very over cooked steak he disappeared until we had no choice but to eat it. This place is horrible and 10/10 would avoid like the plague. Thanks shaker for a horrible anniversary dinner.
Came at 7 with a reservation booked days before, when we arrived they told us they reserved us wrong and had to wait. When we were finally seated they didn’t bring our appetizers out till an hour later after ordered. Didn’t bring the food out until another hour after the appetizer. Been at the restaurant for TWO hours waiting for food, might as well go through mcdonald’s drive through.
This is perhaps one of the worst experiences I had in my life. I cant believe that I will experience this in CANADA. This is not a rant due to bad food or anything like that but rather it is connected to RACISM. I don't usually do the race card but this is the real deal! I thought I was part of a social experiment. We were supposed to celebrate our 7th Wedding Anniversary but we have to experience this kind of maltreatment. To start with, I was informed by the Manager that we would only be allowed for 1 hour and 30 minutes because they were "Busy", however, the other people who arrived did not have the same treatment. I let that slip. EVERYONE got served except US who are not white, unfortunately! I did realize that we were not welcome as we were the only visible minority in the restaurant! The waiter gave us the water and said he will "come back" but it had already been 15 minutes, he even served the people who recently arrived! He keeps passing to me and ignoring me. I keep calling other staff that we are ready to order but they just look at me and they just laugh like I was nothing to them. I feel angry and humiliated we just left! When we were leaving the manager didn't even asked us why we are leaving! She saw us and gave us that SMIRK that we are not welcome in this restaurant. To the owners of Shaker Next time put up a sign that this restaurant is for White people only. I am going to use all my connections and publish my story in the civilized world.
Terrible service. I had a poor experience in the past and thought I would give it a chance again. My mistake. It wasn't busy but staff seemed uninterested in providing and service. Als, the chair I was seated in was broke, and the glass I was served in chipped. For a place that is supposedly classy, it is anything but. There are many better options in ther area.
