I visited the Markham location today and was shocked by how poorly it was run. At 4:00 p.m.—a full hour before closing—the staff locked the doors and left people waiting outside in 30°C heat. Even worse, three staff members stood at the door letting one person out at a time and refusing to let anyone else in.nnThis was incredibly rude and dismissive. As taxpayers, we expect a basic level of courtesy and professionalism, but instead it felt like they were doing everything possible to avoid working 1 second after closing time. Completely unacceptable.

Went to get my daughter's health card renewal and V at the front counter was excellent at helping us process it through. It wasn't as easy and straightforward to have documents for children over 16 and you need proof of residency when a child doesn't have driver's license or banking statements. So thankful to V for all her help and patience especially on a Friday before long weekend.

Me & my sister took my mom to this location to renew her Ontario Health Card because now she is over 75 years old and required in-person for renewal.nMy mom is a Canadian Citizen and had been a valid Ontario Health Card holder for over 30 years.nWe brought in 3 pieces of IDs as specified from the Ontario government website.nIt supposed to be a quick and straight forward renewal and turned into an over 30 minute of chaos.nFirst of all while we were lining up, we heard one of the lady staff was speaking rudely with attitude to another customer which is completely unnecessary and inappropriate, as we are here to do renewal, not criminals, but she sounded like questioning criminals.nDon’t get me wrong, some staff are nice, especially the gentlemen on booth # 1 was greeting & speaking politely to the customers which is what we are expecting the experience from a government service.nBut unfortunately, my mom did not get assign to that nice gentlemen but got assigned to the rude lady.nMy mom is over 75 years old and walking with a crane since she just has a knee replacement surgery and she was being questioned & treated rudely by that ServiceOntario lady, and she kept challenging my mom on her visit stamps to other countries in 2019 when she was taking a cruise trip to Asia for just about 2 weeks…nBut since her cruise ship visited multiple Asian countries and she was asked the exact travelling dates or documents / boarding pass for her trips.nDo you EVER remember your exact traveling dates which was 6 years ago or documents you even keep any boarding passes for that long…nThe lady staff was being ridiculous with very rude attitude speaking over to my mom and my sister for about 30 min.nWe don’t deserve this type of government services especially for a senior who just had knee surgery and standing for over 30 min being questioned like she is a criminal… she was just there to renew her health card.nFurthermore, if we are expecting to provide detailed proof of travel documents, why that wasn’t mentioned on the official government website.nThat lady staff owed every customers she treated badly with an apology.nAnd if she didn’t know how to do “customer service”, I think she should seriously consider finding another job.nI don’t think she even qualified to get 1 star… should be negative…

A big shout-out to Alex, the Service Ontario agent and the manager who understood my needs and assisted me amend my driver’s license and health card renewal.nOutstanding efficient customer service in a timely manner.nGreat job Alex and all!

To the staff member near closing time: i will try to be nice on the review. I was the one standing by the door on Wednesday near closing time and being nice and holding the door for you so you can do your thing. I know you have a long day and you don’t like your job and you are frustrated with the lineup of people. But you don’t need to say “ LET GO of the door” to me! I could care less if you get hit by the door. I am sorry and next time I will let the door hit you back inside!!
