Took 5 hours to get inside. Long line. Came at 9.45am on a Monday. Got in at 3pm. Only 3 staff. I don’t know why they opened it for that day. Just don’t go here. Any other locations are way better.
Not too much service going on here, I was told it was 2 hour wait. Whoever posted that there were no lineups here must work at this facility. It's supposed to open at 8:30 am it is almost 9 am and the doors have not opened up yet. This picture is at 8:44 am and I was in the back, by 9:35 am I was by the edge of the building. It's colder today than I thought at least closer to the building there is less wind. Looks like the only reason the line is getting smaller is because people are leaving.
If you have booked an appointment to renew your passport, make sure you tell the front desk person that. I wasn't asked, so I thought they didn't respect those who had appointments. After an hour, I heard a staff call for a client with their appointment time. I then told the front desk about my pre-booked appointment. She immediately put my name on top of the list. I was called immediately and done in 15 minutes after that. Everyone was nice. Just thought they should've asked if you had an appointment up front.
I and my husband John just renewed Canadian Passports there this morning Jan 6 2023. It took us 1.5 hour in total from arriving there till all done which is good. However all of the staffers serviced us front-end welcome female black staffer, registration white girl, #6 white girl were very cold as none of them greeting us but a big face instead. Not sure how they treat others but I did see the lady in front of me without Asian face did get warm greeting by the front welcome staffer. Is it just a random event ? I don't think so as it happened to 3 staffers who worked in the same place for Canadian Government which is unbelievable !!! I knew why this happened and totally understood your guy's dislike THEM, we too. But please treat ordinary people fairly & evenly as no one could represent the government especially whom the one left abandoned for 20+ years !!!!!!
Arrived there at 3:45am. I was the first one.Learned from another person in line that you have to be patient to refresh the appointment booking site till you see one available. For 16 years old general passport application you need to present a id with picture and signature, it can be health card, child’s passport. But my child’s passport didn’t have a signature, needed to go home to pick up health card. Second visit doesn’t need to line up again. The passport processing time is 5 months. These are the information I was looking for on google review, thought it would be helpful to share.
Our tax dollars are paying for a 3+ hour wait for maybe less than 20 people in line, all waiting outside in the cold. Zero urgency or appreciation for fellow Canadians seeking service quick passport one in my case. If government services were run by a business, this wouldn’t happen.
Why do most 90% public servants within service Canada have an entitlement attitude? Is it because the government is essentially a bully, that’s how it trickles down, isn’t it? Hence all its little henchman’s are undoubtedly “acts” as if they are superior than us “PEASANTS”? Some are really decent human beings and I appreciate every single one of them. As for the rest, you can feel entitled all you want, you are simply but a tool to the government and thinking it’s a cushy job. This location is the worst, or the one from Scarborough, both are the finest in its “own sense”…?
I came here 2 weeks ago on a Thursday morning at 8am and was the 3rd person in line. They opened promptly at 8:30am and let us wait inside. There were only 3 booths opened even though there were around 10 booths in total. The person helping me was great and took around 25 mins while training an employee to process my application. Overall, the process wasn't too bad and my advice is to show up early before the doors open if you want a faster experience.
Waiting and standing one and half hour outside the office in cold weather and finally get inside the office and waiting again but better this time with seats. Long line in waiting seats as well and should be another one and half hour waiting. The office have ten booths but why only three booths are open? That’s why we have to wait such a long time. Where are the other seven staff members gone?
I went with my elderly parents. The black security guard woman I think put her hands on my dad and was very disrespectful towards him. The line started moving and the cut-off point was right before us. Dad kept moving but finally realized what happened and stopped. She started provoking him, got down to his level, put her hands together and shoved them towards his face while saying “are you angry with me sir? Huh. Are you angry with me sir?” And then pushed his arm. I tried to laugh it off in that moment but I am terribly upset at how he was treated. Please extend respect and patience towards the elderly. All us young folks are also going to be old AF one day. I regret not taking the reviews here seriously. I echo everything already said i.e. long lines/wait time, empty office inside, etc. The guy inside that helped us was awesome though!
