I had an excellent experience here to renew two unexpired passports on February 7. I went early and was in the line up outside at 7:45 am they open at 8:30 am and there were five people ahead of me. This was terrific! Once they start letting people in, they give you a number and you sit down and wait. Another desk calls you up by your number and she she was very friendly and welcoming - long curly hair confirms the purpose of your visit, then you sit down and wait to be called by the staff who process your paperwork. I was called up to desk 2 and helped by Amanda... She also explained that this office is not a passport office. This office gathers all of the passport applications and sends them to a nearby passport office Mississauga. If you have a complicated passport application, you can't go here, because they are not set up to help you. Amanda was thorough, patient and helpful. I had completed my applications electronically, printed them and taken these in. She explained that I had not completed two key areas. She highlighted the needed corrections and asked me to make them. She worked quickly, but accurately to process the info. I couldn't help but notice her T-shirt. After the applications were submitted, I said to her, "I love your Titanic cats" featured on her T-shirt and we both burst out laughing. Folks - make sure that you have all your paperwork is completed before you go to a government office. Make sure that you have all the required documents and that you go to the correct type of office that can deal with your need. There was a lady ahead of me, renewing her unexpired passport also, but all she had was her application form, she didn't have the two required photos. I showed her where the application form explains that she needs to have two photos submitted with her application, and she was angry that she "didn't have all the info". She was also angry that she had been in the line since 8:00 am because the security guard told her the office opened at 8:00 am. The security guard most likely suggested that she go early and line up at 8:00 am. Please don't criticize the government office, staff, or the process, especially when you haven't prepared properly. I give this office and Amanda 6/5 stars! They work with ultra sensitive documents, and keep us all safe. Thank you staff at 677 Appleby!
This is by far the worst place to get your passport renewed. There is absolutely no respect for people's time. If you want to waste an entire day for something as simple as getting your passport renewed you should go to this location. We were in line at 8.20 and there were 6 people in front of us. It is 10.30 and we did not make it to the counter yet! This is ridiculous! It is worst than a third world country! What a joke this place is! If I would work like this I would be fired in about 5 minutes.
Only 2 "workers" but they also work like Government Workers, so efficiency is not a concern. It is not completely the fault of those in the office, it is typical of the "Modern Trudeau Government". Wasting taxpayer $
I put 2 stars instead 0 because the security guard at the door is super nice and took his time to nicely explain what to do to people. Orher than that it was hard to believe that they had only 2 or 3 employees working for the customers and 3 employees at the door who basically worked hard for the first hour, given numbers and explanations to the first 40 clients and then you have random people here and there, I will say 10 or 15 in one hour, basically to give a number tell them to come later. 3 EMPLOYEES TO DO THAT. Had to wait for 4 1/2 hs to get my passport application done.
Terrible experience. They told me that go to Stoney creek or Hamilton. We are busy. I went twice. Terrible service. Security guard even not friendly. I am giving them 0 rating. After that I had no choice I went into Hamilton office. There was full to. But security and staff was so friendly. Thx to Service Canada, Hamilton. Burlington is terrible
My daughter needs her SIN. I did it twice online to have it denied. They say we didn't provide proper documents. Called.. they said we did. He doesn't understand why they say we didn't that he would escalate it but if I go in it will be faster. Went in Sept 23rd to be refused entry cause it was 345.. but their open till 4! I have it all on video. Today my daughter's dad went at 11am and again refused entry and told to come back tomorrow.... What are they getting paid for...?? Just filed a complaint on this location and I am.going to seek legal advice!
For sure the wait was a PITA, but the staff working there were trying their best with complex situations and communicating as best they could and setting expectations. I was there for 745 am, opened at 830 and was given a voucher for 1 pm return. Unfortunately there was less staff that day. Returned and by the time I was done it was nearly 4 pm. Kudos to the staff for maintaining their cool, being pleasant, respectful, thanking each of us for our patiance, keeping us informed and organized.
Very understaffed. Except for security guards. There’s about 4 security guards to 1 agent. They are friendly enough but takes hours to get in and if you’re not there early, you’ll be turned away.
Most pathetic location I’ve ever seen , only 14 people get to renew their passport from 830-4 what an inefficient joke! Lines clogging up the plaza ,blocking daycares one hour before open. How is this government run? Who ever staffed this place needs to be immediately replaced
Bad experience, because of one of the security guys so rude but the other security and the lady at desk were so nice
