Theft of elections signs... caught on video.. 2 squad cars... True north strong and free? looks more like elections under threat of violence while officers stand by... Where's the blue line... Protect and serve.. Protect and serve who? Tampering with or stealing election signs is an offence under the Criminal Code of Canada and the Canada Elections Act, and anyone caught doing so can be facing charges, including mischief to property or theft under $5,000- which has a maximum penalty of two years in prison But hey.. its more convenient to walk away.
Related to the horrific shooting spree which started with the ambush murder of PC Hong from the Toronto Police Service, this review is directly for Chief Stephen Tanner of the Halton Regional Police regarding his professional, compassionate, and eloquent presentation to the community. In part, Chief Tanner stated, "Our thoughts have been and always will be with the victims and their families in this difficult time as they deal with the loss of their loved ones and all those who have been impacted by these tragic incidents. If anyone listening has been affected by these tragic incidents in Halton or Peel or elsewhere, there will be victim services units available to assist you. Chief Tanner pointed out that some 90% of handguns used in criminal activity in Ontario can be traced back to the USA and something needs to be done about that. These Criminals are not lawful gun owners. It is comforting to finally hear a Chief of Police who not only cares, but makes it a priority to offer meaningful assistance to traumatized citizens and police personnel alike after such horrific events. The commitment and sincerity of Chief Tanner is an example for other Chief's of Police to Follow. I hope the Chief of Police in Peel Region was actually listening to what Chief Tanner had to say.
What a joke of a service. Police kidnapped me in my hotel without reason or cause. Police called me said they want to talk to me, I said not a problem as I didn't do anything wrong.... I gave them my details regarding a situation to talk to them. Once they arrived, they knocked on my door, entered without reason or cause and handcuffed me right away. Took me to oakville hospital for evaluation in the mental health unit. Never once did they say why and what they were doing, they basically kidnapped me without talking to me..... what a joke of a system we live in.
I had an extremely unpleasant time on the phone yesterday with one of their non-emergency operators. He would not let me get a word in and kept cutting me off. I obviously got upset about this and so it turned into somewhat of an argument with me starting to cry on the phone. Instead of transferring my call to a supervisor who I did call and got all of my questions answered calmly he said "I am not arguing with you I am disconnecting the line". I work in customer service and not once have I ever disconnected a line you always transfer the customer to a supervisor. I am tremendously disappointed in the Halton Regional Police for letting this happen. The officers ended up coming at 11pm when the original call was place at 6pm. It took 5 hours to have 2 cops available to come?
Never been picked on ever since moving to Oakville especially do to the nature of my car being a high performance vehicle. Always kind and say hi back to me. I feel so much safer here than where I used to live, not mentioning any cities. Big thanks to the HRPS, and much love to everyone of you. May God bless you and keep you all safe
Nobody working here knows anything about anything I can call three times in one day and get a different answer to the same question every time. Useless.
Shout out to James Foster I think his name was last night and the rest of his crew! Keep up the great work
Wrote me ticket may 2019 on Dundas for using phone while driving. I wasn’t even using it. All I did after stopping at lights try to untangle the charger cable around gear sifter so I can Change the gear manual transmission. Judge believed the cop. Now I have to pay huge fine, 3 points on my license and license suspension for three days for something I didn’t do. I’m a truck driver and I can lose my job
After dealing with internal employees, and HR, I can confidently say that I no longer place my trust and faith in the Halton Regional Police Service. The HRPS civilian recruitment process has left an extremely distasteful impression of the Service, and the shady actions of its staff have confirmed the regressive mentality of the Halton Police. I have opted for peaceful resolution regarding my Human Rights as a potential employee, but have been constantly ignored. Based on their actions, it's clear that I was unfairly treated and possibly profiled, and unfairly deselected from the process because I asked questions. Very unfortunate, considering Halton is growing immensely and these views and actions will have an intensely negative impact on the trust of the community. Do better, Halton Police.
Handcuffs were placed with care not to hurt my wrists. Patrol cars were slightly cramped but very comfortable. Warm blankets were given to sleep with in cells. Would get arrested again! 5 stars!!!
