This is a nice hiking trail. The first part takes you to the summit 2-3km distance mostly steep uphills, so be ready, and take enough water! There are 3-4 view points, one along the way and three on top, the first one on top is the best with a nice panoramic view. The second leg of the hike is much longer, through an undulating terrain which takes you to the lake. That’s a much bigger commitment. Enjoy!
Beautiful and well maintained trail. We stopped about halfway along the point to point and our round trip took us about 4 hours.
We just went up to the Mont Ouareau. Saw the maple juice collection system on the way. And the views from the top :
Nice trail, a bit muddy and not for some who are afraid to slip n fall. But defenitly worth it
I really like the trail, it has intermediate level, from parking you climb for 3 km to the first 2 view points, it was muddy this time of year.
Heavy populated trail. Certainly great for the less outdoors crowd. Very close to the highway takes an hour and a half max round trip to summit the mountain and enjoy some beautiful views. This is not an easy trail, requires some fancy footwork but everyone in the family is capable of completing the trail. Great time for the whole family even the dog just bring a leash. For the more adventurous the trail connects to the Sentier National which is an amazing, much less busy, trail that connects all the summits in the region. Go exploring. There's no outhouse at this location make sure to go before. The parking lot does get full quickly, recommend going outside of the morning rush.
Great hike and nice view ! Took around 3.5 hrs total plus rest and eat up there.
Make sure you drive a bit slower prior to the enterence as it could be easily missed. As you know the rainy weather near montreal, it is my advice to wear hiking boot to avoid the fear of stepping thru mud. If you are skillful enough you can try to hop between logs but if it is slippery then it could be a challenge. This trail is not difficult at all, 4km into the trail there is a sign pointing you to two different direction for 2 different lookout point, you should go to both but the 0.6km one rewards you with a lake view. Dont need to take food up the hike like my buddy did, the hike is so short just bring a bit of water and you should be all set!
Great hike!! Super easy to make it to the top of the mountain, however, it is quite the commitment if you want to make it to the lake. Expect a good 2.5 hours from the summit to the lake and another back. Great view though.
