Second Time Around Computers

A former co-worker of mine recommended Second Time Around Computers to me in 2013. Procrastinating for too many months, I finally went to them in 2014 to have my laptop repaired. The crew that helped me were just great. Easy to talk with, no hard sell tactics, explained things in language I could easily understand and after checking out my laptop they explained the scope of services they were recommending for my repair. They completed the job in a short period of time. I was super happy with the results, the service and the cost. Now it's almost 4 yrs. later and the same laptop had not had attention since their previous work and needed a very overdue clean up and overhaul. I went in again and the crew was just as friendly and accommodating, same style of communication, very efficient and again...no hard sell tactics. I needed to have it back quickly, too and they managed to do that for me even though I know they were very busy. I highly recommend this competent and well run local company with a great crew.

Took a laptop in for a simple replacement of a power jack, 3 weeks later, we finally have the computer home. They took way to long to complete this repair and not once did they communicate with us as to why the repair needed to take 3 weeks. Nothing was said when we picked it up either. Next time, I'll buy the soldering iron and do the repair myself, not satisfied at all! So far the laptop is working though. We will not be repeat customers, that will teach me to be lazy for not wanting to do the repair myself....

Always had great help until my last purchase. They know it is hard for me to leave my business (I work 7 days a week) & have 8 rescue dogs to tote around. I highly recommend you have them demonstrate that what ever you buy operates before you leave the store. I was sent home with a computer that received power but wouldn't turn on as something inside wasn't plugged in. So I had to wait until Monday to go back! Then sat there for two hrs while he tried to find a driver for the WiFi card that he was putting in for free for my trouble as I had to wait all weekend to go back. I got to thinking & asked if I needed a WiFi card if I had Net Gear? No was the answer and enough time was wasted on finding a driver. So I went home to install Net Gear. I was asked for info that I didn't have so I called Comcast. They tried to set up internet & couldn't. So they set up an appt on Thurs to help me. When no one showed up, I called Comcast & they had the nerve to lie to me & tell me I called & cancelled the appt!! They refused to even help me period as the main computer had internet. So I finally called Second Time and asked why Net Gear wouldn't load. After trouble shooting over the phone & having me go into the computer (which I never did before) come to find out the CD drive didn't work. So now I am expecting to drive over there again, waste more gas & time & possible close my store & lose business to do so. Six days of hell for something that doesn't work. Come to find out the cd drive wasn't plugged in either which I found out when one of my customers came to my rescue. Then I find out that I wouldn't have been expected to drive to the store a third time and they would have sent someone out (hindsight 20/20). Roger was mortified that a computer like I got was even out on the shelves. He never had it happen before and has since changed his policy. I was a learning experience for both of us.

I took my HP laptop to Northwest Computer Repair on E. North St. (part of Second Time Around Computers) because I couldn't access the hard drive. That was on Monday. They found that the hard drive needed to be replaced and completed the work within the quoted estimate, which was very reasonable. I picked it up on Thursday. I'm very satisfied!
