Assistance League of Bellingham, Thrift & Gift Shop

This is where you go if you want quality, NOT the typical stuff that winds up at Goodwill and Salvation Army (I don't quibble with the good work they do there, but honestly, the quality of the items is usually low). Many loyal donors bring in their best stuff (or "aunt Edna's" best stuff) to the ALB shop, where it's cleaned, researched, and priced fairly, by a hardworking all-volunteer staff. And if it does not sell after a bit, it goes on sale, first 50% off then 75% off. Proceeds go primarily to clothe low income school children. As far as the $200 china one reviewer scoffed at, well, that person doesn't know their brands! This shop routinely stocks Limoges, Noritake, and many other high end sets...often wedding china from earlier years which simply sat in the china cabinet and was seldom if ever used!. You can't go wrong here if you want QUALITY. On the other hand, if you want the one dollar stuff, well, there are lots of of second hand shops around and the person who gave the ALB shop one star is welcome to go elsewhere and leave the good stuff to the rest of us!

Very small locations with ridiculously high prices. Maybe they have already marked things up for the holidays ahead but I doubt out. A set of China almost $200! Sorry bit I'll stick to Goodwill, Salvation Army and Value Village. I shop in 2nd head stores because this is what I can afford. Not a store that tells me to compare their great low price to an online Replacements store!

Reluctant to share this gem. Staffed w/volunteers & profits help women in the community. Have seen AMAZING deals on furniture from estates. A lot of mid-century, kitschy platters, serving dishes. Always something interesting.Come on Tuesday for a senior discount.

Very nice thrift, with clean, well organized stock and reasonable prices. Very easy to find everything and they had a nice selection of furniture and decor, too. I bought several things and although it was my first time in, I'll definitely be back. Staff was friendly, too.
