Cowichan Bay is a unique seaside village, idyllically located less than an hour north of Victoria, B.C., our jewel of a Victorian era capital city.

Our quaint, seaside village is becoming known near and far as a delightful destination, both for boutique shopping for locally made goods, and as a culinary and fine dining destination. A hotel, and other B & B’s, are located right in the village. But Cowichan Bay is also very much a working, fisherman’s village and marina and pub. All of the attendant noises and activity can go on long after day’s end. You could choose the local hotel, but should you? Choosing to stay in the village may mean a less than peaceful night’s sleep.

Though we are less than a 10 minute stroll away from the village, we are a peaceful, nature filled retreat. Rest assured that you will not be disturbed by the noises of fishing vessels, or even those of our resident sea lions, when they return each fall!
Our gardens are filled with fragrance, which attracts an abundance of bees, birds and butterflies. When staying with us during the summer months, you can expect to breakfast on our beautiful terrace, surrounded by rose filled gardens, the bay forming the distant backdrop.

Being situated one street up and above the bay, we are an easy walk, both to and from the village. Our guests never need to take their car, either to shop or to dine in Cowichan Bay. This means that they can enjoy a bottle of wine with their meal, knowing that home is a short, relaxing walk away.


At Seasons Above the Bay, we have just 2 unique and beautifully detailed suites, one particularly suited to longer stays as it is fully self catering. When guests are travelling together in pairs, these suites can be configured to offer the perfect living solution. Each couple is fully independent with their own bedroom, bathroom, and even flat screen T.V., but they can share the full living room and kitchenette.

When you choose a B & B over a hotel, you are ensuring a level of personalized service, both through catering to your needs, as well as the provision of an abundance of information. This helps to ensure that your stay in our valley is filled with unique experiences. We are becoming quite well known for the ambience and service which we provide our guests. Breakfast is our specialty at Seasons Above the Bay. Our guests will testify that our gourmet meals are both filling and delicious. We provide a full 3 course breakfast, and vary our choices daily, but always, fresh, seasonal, and where possible, local fruit and produce are part of the meal. Guests have the opportunity to select some of their favorites over the course of their stay.
And usually, they tell us, they’re hungry again by dinner!
