As one of the GTA’s first Chinese Restaurants, Sea-Hi Chinese restaurant has been a landmark since the 1950’s.
It stands as one of only 2 landmark’s in Toronto that still has its original Neon light sign from the 50’s. It is popular amongst many families who have dined at Sea-Hi as a family tradition for over 3 generations. The restaurant and its vintage Chinese ambiance has not only swayed the hearts of it’s clientele, but has also seen Hollywood knocking when the restaurant appeared in Hollywood blockbuster “Where the truth lies” starring Kevin Bacon and Oscar award winner Colin Firth.
The menu has the traditional chop suey staples that many westerners love and crave, but with a few exceptions that separate Sea-Hi from the rest. Known as the only chop suey house to have the signature Chicken Sticks – breaded chicken and bacon wrapped sticks served with house made plum sauce. This dish puts comfort food and snacking on a whole other level. Sea-Hi has also popularized its Shrimp and Lobster sauce, when layered over its classic fried rice you can literally be in food heaven. Another classic dish is the Dry Garlic Ribs, ribs in a black sweet sticky sauce that will drive your tastebuds wild. Oh, and you can’t forget the chicken wings. Always a fan favourite.
When you dine in, you get a plate of crispy noodles along side the house made plum sauce and mustard sauce that will for sure keep you coming back for more!!
