Scotty's Drive-In

This place looks cool and fun for a classic looking diner. But, food is fair, front staff seems nice enough though one older lady in back kept staring at us like we're from another planet. On the plus side, the fish dinner was perfectly fried, the country fried steak burger had potential but came up short flavor wise, fries were fresh and hot but could stand a little longer fry time. Overall, Scotty's is good, not great.

Great place to eat, burgers, corn dogs, grilled cheese and more. I highly recommend their zucchini fries. They do get busy so service can be very slow but worth the wait the fresh food every time.

I've been coming here for years and it has never disappointed. Once the new owners took over and renovated the place I was worried things would change. I heard from locals that things had in fact changed, and not for the better. If you read through some of the other reviews you might come to the same conclusion. I went and saw for myself this past weekend and was very surprised. The renovations to the interior and exterior are bright, colorful and fun. The staff was friendly and helpful. And since my family doesn't get to Scottsbluff very often I had to sample all my favorites from the menu to make sure it still held up to my memory. The Tasty Taverns were delicious, the fries and mushrooms were wonderful, and the burgers were excellent. I even sampled a glacier for the first time, and it will not be the last. Perhaps the beef has changed slightly, but it is not for the worse I can assure you. This place has been a staple in town for a long time, and I hope it remains. It would be a shame if disgruntled locals ruin this institution simply because new ownership improved some things because it would leave Scottsbluff without a local restaurant that provides traditional American drive-in food, and all that would be left in town is the same slop you can get anywhere else. I would rather pay double for something with soul like Scotty's than something made on some corporate assembly line.

While on a 13-hour road trip, we stopped at Scotty's for dinner. $38 bought us two undercooked, over salted cheeseburgers, soggy fries and some onion rings. Definitely not worth it. The girl that took our order at the window was about the only highlight of our stop. Back on the road, but won't return to Scotty's.

The place was spotless, we stopped for milkshakes and malts. A medium here is a large anywhere else.
