I opened a small business banking account, and it has made my life miserable and even impacted my business, my "account representative literally has no desire to help or she is doing barely minimum to keep the job." Like it is incredible how they treat customers. If you open an account business or personal make sure Gill, Mona does not represent you.
Similar to other reviews, I have only had negative experience at this branch. The last time I went in, I wanted to join my account with my parents', but a female teller in her 30s did not get her name told me she could not do it and needed an advisor's help to do it and everyone was busy that day. I asked her to schedule me an appointment for any advisor in downtown Scotia, and instead she started listing all the other banks in the area... Soon I realized I will get no where with her and decided to try the new Scotia at Vancouver house. While the teller not an advisor there was inexperienced, he was able to help me complete the process. I am not sure why the lady at Yaletown location was not able to do it. Was it just simple laziness? Either way, avoid this branch for complicated/important tasks if possible.
Our account was frozen but because of a new job there was hope to pay back everything. At the moment we are not at Canada so we had to call from Europe. We called 6x times each with minimum 15min on hold till we reach someone who promised us that it's unfreeze till 48hours. 58 nothing change we couldn't accept the money from the new job nothing. Another 10 call's, spoke to 15 different peoples 3 from the Homer location... which should help us but didn't. Instead to get out and solve the money problem it waisted us more money, round about 300€ telephone bill that was the amount from this month we wanted to pay off. What should I say no service, it seems like they are trained to hold you on the phone as long as possible without any results. Update it seems to be unfreeze now we have to ceck it...its not clear yet because we sended already the money to another bank account without any problems
I have already a couple of years that I go to this branch and all the staff are great and responsive from my personal experience Taylor is always there to help in any way he can looking to do more business in there for many more years
Rude, unhelpful staff at Yaletown branch today. Went into the Yaletown branch because my parents had previously assigned from their home branch with approval, for me to pick up something on their behalf. The minute I mentioned my request to the teller I was responded to with condescending voice tone and rude facial expressions. He was super arrogant. The teller was a male I didn’t get his name. Without even asking for the name of the file to assist me to check the notes he said absolutely not, you can’t do that. I was shocked by his assumptive behavior. Then a lady named Natasha Hasham whom claimed to be the manager however according to her business card, she is a financial advisor intervenes with the same assumptive, lack of effort approach. I asked her to check her emails or notes and she refused and said she knows she already didn’t receive any email. NOT ONCE did Natasha or the teller ask what my name was, what the name of the package pick up was. The least they could do was have the professionalism and customer service standards to look up my file to see if there were any notes. The situation could of been handled so differently. But instead they chose to lead with negativity. They made me feel like I was a bad person. It was truly the weirdest banking experience. My family and I have been banking with Scotia for 15+ Years and our home branch on the island is always lovely to us. But the people today at the Yaletown location are unfriendly, unprofessional and could brush up on their customer service skills. It’s a shame that an unfortunate situation at one branch can really negatively effect the brand as a whole. Judging by the Google reviews it seems the common consensus is that generally the Yaletown branch delivers a negative experience. I really would appreciate new customer service training. No one wants to feel treated poorly at an establishment they are investing their finances into.
This is the worst bank in history. I had a problem with a potential breech of my bank account and was the only customer at 9 30 Saturday morning. 4 staff members explained to me that they are short staffed and can't help me, I was the only customer, they told me to go to another branch. Pathetic service
I have been dealing with a compromised account for few weeks. Multiple errors and miscommunications have caused me a tremendous deal of inconvenience and wasted time and mental energy. I decided to close my bank account given the lack of trust in the safety of my funds. Once the fraud department finalized their investigation, I visited this branch to close my account. I was asked to pay the full monthly service fee before closing the account despite me trying to close it on the 16th of May. I offered to pay a prorated fee but that was not an option. The manager at the time, Mr. Taylor Nadon, was well capable of taking care of the fee and expressing that he would hope that I choose Scotiabank in the future. Mr. Taylor Nadon approach was very combative, invalidating, patronizing and lacked competence. Instead of acknowledging the errors and the inconvenience, Mr. Nadon chose to alienate me over a service fee of $16.95. I hope the $16.95 service fee was worth this negative review for Mr. Nadon and this Scotiabank branch.
Staff are completely incompetent, have no idea what they’re doing and can’t even manage simple banking like providing a blank cheque. The lady with short dark hair should absolutely be fired, she is rude, aggressive and utterly useless. They tell you their computers/system can’t handle any information about your account and can’t give you any banking forms, insisting everything has to be done on the app and if you don’t have the app and printer then “screw you” basically. No other way to get your banking info or forms. Literally the most useless business. I don’t know why they even bother paying the staff Do yourself a favor and bank ANYWHERE ELSE! Will be ending my account with Scotiabank and going elsewhere
Had a bad experience. They blocked my credit card in the name of security and i have been made to go to all the branch in person and the supporting staff who have no idea of what they are doing. Worst part They are literally making my life miserable as everything is tied to credit card and my card is blocked for no reason, even after going to branch and identifying myself and I have to tell them that the transaction is made by me. It's so sad, how bank have power to stop you from using your own money in the name of security
Inquired about a mortgage pre approval and no one got back to me until a more than a week and half. The person I was dealing said their system they use for mortgages was down but never followed up with me to say there was going to be a delay. They finally sent me over my details and called and left a voicemail to go over the details. No one again has returned my call. Stay away from this branch for any financial services unless you want to wait a long time for just a basic reply. Absolutely terrible customer service.
