Schmidty's Bar & Grill

My husband and I have been going to Schmidty's Bar & Grill for 44 years. We loved it then . . . It has only improved over time. Great atmosphere, wonderful salad bar & great food.

We went out for dinner on Sat evening, we got there about 4:30 7 was already starting to fill up. we had a great server & the food was excellent. They have a very large salad bar with lots of items to choose from, 2 homeade soups, rolls & garlic toast. My husband & I each had chicken breast with mushrooms, parmesan cheese & angel hair pasta . It was so flavorful. By the time we left the place was packed & people were standing around waiting for their tables. I would recommend reservations.

So wonderful, 100% good. Service was timely and appropriate, food was plenty and delicious. I ordered the special Prime Rib and Cod, and I have say it was fantastic! Prime Rib cooked perfect medium well as I asked, yet juicy but not greasy. The cod was flaky and buttery. Abosule heaven in the mouth. This location is far better then it's counterpart in Roman. 5 stars for here all the way, worth the drive from Minneapolis!

I had visited only once for a reason.. Putting a large trash bag under a high chair is really not nice... Our waitress seemed to make us feel we wer not welcomed and made a rude comment when my 1yr old was numming on something from my plate, from the salad bar. I remarked back his food it taking a bit long and he is hungry. The salad bar, was not impressive. The hot dog buns wer hard the lettuce brown... Waitress then asked us not to close the blinds even tho I pointed out the sun was directly on my husbands face. We may try again to see if maybe it was just a bad day there. If it is a better time I will be happy to change my review.

Great local hangout. Best old fashioneds! Free popcorn, great after 8 burger special, outdoor patio...Monday night hat night! Catch up with the neighbors 😊
