Small shop with European goods from dairy to fish and meat, sweets and canned food and a cafe with homemade dishes. Fermented veggies, soups, salads, main dishes, crepes, cakes and sweets, patties, perogies, pelmens and more. Very friendly staff. If you like Eastern Europe cuisine - give it a try.
I first want to start out by saying the food is delicious. Customer service is okay. The food is overpriced. I had ordered the goulash with mashed potatoes and a drink and it came to $10.16 when I got my meal, they gave me a ton of mashed potatoes and only 3 small cubes of meat as you can see from this picture. It is sad to see that this could be the reason that they are not busy as well. I have attached a pic of that as well.
No tables for dine in right now. Understandable due to Covid. But it's nice they have a microwave to warm things up like the buns. Great cake. Will be back to try more.
Yesterday I asked my husband to pick up some cake/pastries for me and he went to try Savtas in first time. OMG, they were so good!! He picked Napoleon and I’m not sure if the other one is Anechka or something different. But they both were absolutely delicious and definitely made from the best ingredients. Like the most delicious homemade cake you could find! Now need to stop myself from going there too often
Small East-European deli with fresh cooked food as well. The only one in Newmarket-Aurora region.
Cozy Eastern europe store with good choice of cooked dishes. Can recommend this place to whom want to taste eastern europe cuisine.
I dropped in because I was parked outside waiting to pick up someone from the doctor next door. There is no lunch service, but the takeout counter includes items they can heat up for you. I had a sausage roll. More a wiener style than a Canadian coarse sausage and it was great. I’ll certainly try again. The stick pin in maps looks like the shop is in the rear of the plaza. It actually fronts on Yonge and they are UNDER the “BMO NESBITT BURNS” signs next to the doctors office. They need a menu here in Google Maps and a QR code so smart phones can get their menu without typing. There is a negative one star review about very little meat in an $11 meal. I suggest that is a fake review looking to scare you off. The owner usually replies to such reviews. And don’t bother with the spelling error in “Welcom” on the yellow sign! I bet your a Russian spelling is not as good as their English! Worth a try for sure!! Full disclosure: I’m a Google Maps volunteer and Street View virtual tour photographer but Savta’s is not a client. Yet. Maybe they’ll trade food for more content in Google maps!
My favorite shop with European goodies!!! Home made catering always fresh and delicious. Owners are such a sweet people and its always inviting to shop!!! Highly recommended
It was my first time visiting Savtas, the customer service and food were amazing. Very helpful and friendly. I tried the cottage cheese piroshki and slice of Sacher, they were absolutely phenomenal. The food was very filling and the prices were very good for the homemade quality. I definitely recommend this place!
We ordered catering for our kids birthday party and it was a git. Plov was something extraordinary and in general very good food. For all eastern Europeans it is a taste that will get you nostalgic :
