I recently purchased marshmallows at this location. I originally brought four bags to the counter, asked the cashier to confirm the expiry date before anything was scanned, and then decided to purchase two. The cashier confirmed “two bags.”nnWhen I got home and reviewed my receipt, I noticed I had been charged for three bags instead of two.nnIt’s not about the amount, but I would encourage customers to double-check their receipts, especially when changing quantities at the counter.nnI hope management can review procedures to ensure accuracy moving forward.
I had an unpleasant experience with a middle-aged staff member named Baljeet her badge mentioned 10 years. I ordered a chicken pot pie, and she immediately billed it at the kitchen cashier while I was still shopping.nnI politely asked her for some ketchup, which was right beside her. Instead of simply handing it to us and letting us continue, she insisted multiple times that we first complete our shopping, pay at self-checkout, and then come back to collect the ketchup which was free.nnWe were already standing there with a billed chicken pot pie, so it did not make sense to leave and return just for ketchup. Despite explaining this calmly, she repeated the same instruction three to four times, which delayed us for about 20–30 minutes.nnThe interaction felt unnecessary, inconvenient, and not customer-friendly. I hope management can guide staff to handle such small requests more efficiently in the future.
I’ve had mixed experiences here over the years. While I appreciate that management seems to listen and make improvements, some cashier interactions have been disappointing.nnYears ago, when I didn’t yet have a More Rewards card, a cashier scanned another customer’s card without asking and all the points went to them. I reached out to customer service afterward, and to their credit, changes were implemented — I’ve since noticed that when customers don’t have a card, cashiers now scan a store card instead. That was a positive improvement.nnUnfortunately, I had another unpleasant experience today. While our groceries were being rung up, the cashier L.S. #1774 asked my significant other something, but it wasn’t very clear. As he was about to ask a simple question regarding a promotion “aren’t these 4 for $20?”, he was abruptly cut off with a loud and condescending, “I NEED YOUR CARD.” After scanning it, she followed up with, “IT’S COMING DOWN NOW,” again in the same tone.nnAs the transaction continued, she was speaking under her breath. While I couldn’t hear exactly what was said, combined with her earlier tone, it felt discourteous and uncomfortable. When I wished her a better day at the end, she responded by glaring at me.nnI understand everyone has off days, and I don’t expect over-the-top friendliness — just basic courtesy. I hope management continues to focus on customer service consistency, because while policies have improved, interactions like this can really affect the overall experience.
So much produce, meat was hella expensive though. like twice the price of super store. A bit more expensive is fine, but twice the price is nuts! 5 stars if the price of meat was reasonable.
They say people make the business, and this Save On is Foods a prime example. All the employees here are so helpful and genuinely care about giving a good customer experience. Special shoutout to Arjan for giving me great service at checkout. He was making everyone's day in line.
