If you are looking to go somewhere with extortionate pricing for the area and a long list of rules, this is the place for you. For seasonal camping you are paying around $6k - not including hydro. This doesn't even allow for you to have guests to your trailer on long weekends. If it isn't a long weekend, you are looking at $10/day per person 13+, $5.00/day per person 4-12 and luckily, 0-3 years old are free OR get a 'visitor' pass for $120 for the season for adults. I could go on... you would think for the price you are paying, simple things such as firewood $15/bag, guests, internet etc. would be included in your fee and not additional. "You pay for excellent service", is a little bit of a reach when you can barely get a passing hello or wave from staff.... most of them look like they would prefer to be anywhere but there - try having some enthusiasm for your guests who are paying a pretty penny. This campground is money hungry. Focus a little more on your guests and ensuring that expectations are being met instead of ensuring you are emptying pockets for bottom of the barrel basic service and a not-so glamourous park. In addition to this, if you don't want to enjoy your long-summer nights around the campfire with friends making memories, having a couple of beers, and laughing - this might not be the place for you. Strict quiet hours are enforced with no chance of being given an exception. Again, for the price you are paying it is a shame you can't even enjoy the space you're paying over 6K for.
My family and I have been coming for 5plus years, this year my 12 year old daughter had a horrific accident & broke her collarbone right before our week long camping trip at Saugeen Springs in 2022. We unfortunately had to cancel our trip. I have tried many times to contact management to get our refund back or reschedule and no one has helped me. Am I getting my 350$ back? Or get to reschedule? : it has been 6months with no response, feeling robbed
Amazing park it was our first time and we were worried about all the rules people talk about. well the owner is lovely and all the rules make total sense either for the comfort of all the guests or to adhere to bylaws and local policies. The place is beautiful and the floating pond and beach reminded me of Disney Resorts. We checked out the animals, used the river and playgrounds and took part in Karaoke in the beautiful barn. I highly reccomend this park if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing time.
Spent a great May Long weekend at Saugeen Springs. Check-in was efficient and the site M6 was very spacious and well kept. The campground is also very clean and quiet. There was an event at the barn on the Sunday night but the noise from the event did not bother us even though we were very close. There is also plenty of roads to walk along for some excersise. There are lots of rules to adhere to but they did not get in the way of our good times.
Great RV park. The Saugeen River runs right through it. We did the 2 hour natural lazy River ride twice on the weekend and it was a great time. Be prepared with water/drinks and sun block unless you like the lobster look. At night there was a country singer and you just take you lawn chairs over there. Good time!
This is an amzing park with beautiful spacious lots, very welcoming staff and other amazing travellers! Everyone was so helpful to us and it's perfect for pets. The river meandering through the park is beautiful and the noise is tranquil. We WILL be back very soon! Keith & Annette Brown
Fantastic park, clean and very well cared for, with all the sites easily accessible. Staff is friendly and courteous, making guest feel very comfortable. I would recommend this park to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing time away from home. We absolutely love it here.
Hands down, the most difficult campground I have ever encountered. From the inability to check reservation availability online, to the bogus mandatory check-in slots, to some pre-arrival check-in form being required 48 hours in advance, to limitations of 2 adults per site, so campers that sleep 6 are useless. If you have any uncertainties leading up to your trip on whether you can make it or not, this is not the place for you. You CANNOT rebook within a week before your trip and they charge you FULL payment if you want to cancel within the week, which is robbery. They make no accommodations for anybody, not even repeat customers. Again, caution if you have any uncertainties surrounding your trip.
Thank you a fantastic camping experience. A big thank you to Tyler who helped book us a 4 day stay on a beautiful site with access to the river. Don't be scared by negative reviews this place was clean, beautiful and has the same rules as any other campsites. Small children should be with a parent as the river runs through the park and if they fell in they could be swept away with the current. Only thing I would suggest for river tubing it would be nice to have a ride back from the bridge even if you charge 20.00. We definitely would pay that. Thank you again for a great experience. We will be back next year but for a longer stay.
Went this weekend with my family and we all had a good time. Tenting spots are spacious and the river is a great attraction that everyone will love I definitely suggest coming with your own river tube.
