Saucy Willow Inn Bed & Breakfast and Cottage Rentals

We had a great time here. Me, my husband, my parents and my two kids (10 months and 3 years old) stayed in cottage #2. It was clean, with more than enough room for all of us. The owners were super friendly. The water was great for the kids. The communal fire pit was great for meeting the people staying in the other cottages. My son had a blast on the paddle boat. It's really close to everything in town if you need to pop our to pick anything up. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a summer rental cottage.

Nice owners and good place to stay. We stayed here for three days and two night at one of the cottages. Our cottage was fair sized and comfortable. Although it's starting to show its age and would benefit from some TLC, for example washroom door could have benefited from latch and lock. Other than that my only other qualm is with the internet coverage throughout the property, which was rather non-existent if you moved away from the main building.

When you approach the Saucy Willow, you don't know what to expect. However, when we got in there, here is what we found: Spotless rooms, excellent food, remarkable service, and ambiance that you can only get in Kawartha Lakes. Chris and Katherine were consummate hosts - they took the time to make sure we were comfortable, at ease, and more importantly, at home. Breakfasts were quite honestly outstanding, restaurant quality at all times (no joke) and we left there completely satisfied.... Katherine is an incredible chef and you couldn't get a better breakfast at a restaurant! There is something to be said for people who open their homes to you, but this was exceptional. They really made us feel like were at home at every turn - we drove 5 hours out there and we had no idea what to expect, but we would drive 5 more hours just to see Katherine and Chris and stay with them...... 5 stars!!!!!!!!!

The place is nothing what the photos show. I's a run-down creepy place. The bed is just a spring box and a mattress. The washroom is in the closet with a Louvre door. Dead bugs on floor and a swarm of flies on the window. We ended up not staying there, but were still charged the full amount. One advice - DO NOT.

We stayed in Cottage # 1 , the picture shows a window air conditioner but in real there is no AC and it is difficult to stay in cottage in the heat we had this summer. If we had known there is no AC in the cottage we would not have picked it. Cottage #1 is not child proof. Open Heating vent's sharp edges and electric cables wires are a danger. Caretakers are friendly and helpfull. Otherwise it was a good experience.
