If you are hungry and are looking for a restaurant of unusual design this place might be for you! We spotted this place while shopping for future dead flowers at the nursery and figured we would drop in for a visit. The time was 12ish but the place was empty! Why? Bit of a concern, we went in anyway. The restaurant was very clean and the staff super friendly. I ordered the Pork souvlaki and my friend the Burger and fries, with gravy of course. All the food arrived in a timely manor and was super tasty. The cook noticed that we had Al T. Dog with us and inquired if she could cook him a sausage!! Of COURSE!! AL loves sausages!! So, he got given a free sausage. So nice to make such a fuss of us!! This is an Excellent restaurant with super nice staff and you must go!!
Unreal experience. We ordered and got our meals efficiently. The waitresses were very good and polite. When I questioned the fact that I ordered Texas toast and this was regular toast then that's when the problems started. I was told that this was correct and that I was mistaken, I advised the waitress "what you think and what is reality are two different things" ... I guess here you just don't state the facts! I never thought a manager could be so rude. I went to this restaurant to have father's day breakfast with my dad, mother and wife and we prefer to support small business. This was a a small business that we frequently went to when I was a child and I wanted to return for the nostalgia....unfortunately my experience was an overwhelming disaster. The toast was advertised as Texas toast on the menu- but it was NOT Texas toast and just regular toast. When I asked about this the manager came over , and instead of offering something else or even offering another slice, shoved an unopened package of bread in front of us that said Texas toast on it and said "Toast shrinks in a toaster". Since it was unopened your guess is as good as mine. Just see attached picture. When I asked about the hunk of processed cheese in the omelette the manager advised me that NO restaurant uses real cheddar cheese and ALL restaurants use only processed cheese. She also advised that for $10.99 what did I expect. So being 50 and this being my first dining experience ever... how would I have known that? Lol. I don't think I have ever had processed cheese in an omelette.. maybe at McDonald's. So I have always supported small local businesses, but the overreaction on her part and her storming around the restaurant loudly telling all the other customers that I did not know what toast was because I was not in the restaurant business was uncalled for.. lol- I am just a consumer of breakfast! She also noticed that I was on my phone so she said "go ahead and leave your comments on social media" and she was ranting this to the other patrons. Since I was only answering an email from work, I am taking her advice! Furthermore she even advised us that the customer is not always right. Even after we stated we just wanted a peaceful Father's Day breakfast we could still hear her swearing, defending her stance, and still talking to her employees and uncomfortable guests. At this point we had all lost our appetites. We went to pay and were initially overcharged for a hot chocolate that we did not order - and she removed it without question, but all the while the uncomfortable conversation still persisted - and we were shocked to learn that she was the owner! Paid the bill left an over 10 percent tip and had breakfast at another establishment down the road. If you come here expecting high quality food and a peaceful, relaxing family meal, then think again. All of this over a piece of toast.
I love this place! The building is quirky, the inside is spotless. I had the BLT - perfection. The bacon was crisp, the veggies tasted bright and fresh. It's only open Friday to Sunday and will close for the Christmas holiday on Dec 21 so you might not want to put off a visit for too long
Best place around. Great menu made to order so it's fresh! Owner is passionate and great at cooking! Staff is so friendly and happy. If you love breakfast this is the place for you. The lunch menu is amazing as well! Check it out, you won't regret it!
Very poor burgers made in the same style as the Mustang Grill which shut down beside it not long ago. Run by the same people. Very cheap cheese that reminds me of plastic. Onion rings were very doughy and not good. I could go easier on the place if they didn't charge the prices they do for a "home made" burger.
After reading reviews, decided to check them out and what a disappoint it was. The poutine was made with shoe string fries, mozzarella cheese and really salty gravy. The onion rings was more batter than anything else and really greasy. The burger was really tasty but small, too much bun for the size of the patty. Choose the housemade burger and enjoyed it. Would only go for the burgers maybe. Staff was friendly. At end of the day, way over priced for what you get and the quality.
We came here the morning after our wedding because we were craving an all-day breakfast. We were treated to amazing, old-fashioned hospitality from the owner herself and an incredible, full breakfast complete with milkshake. Awesome place -- a true gem. Thank you for making our first post-wedding meal a special one!
Not sure if everyone else in these reviews ate at the same restaurant. The place needs a food overhaul, massive cleaning and renovation. The smell from the downstairs terrible bathrooms and plumbing fills the restaurant. A Very moldy and ammonia scent hits you the second you walk in. Pancakes were extremely dense. The 'handmade' burger was so compacted and filled half the bun. Onion rings batter was as if they were 1.5inch spring rolls and just pure oil. Place needs a deep clean, reno, and new recipes. We really want to support our local businesses however we won't be back.
We have been here 6 times since they have reopened. So happy to have this Clarkson landmark back up and running. We’ve had different items on their breakfast menu, and tried their Dinner menu. Never being disappointed!!! Katina and the team do a great job of making people feel at home and of course the food is well portioned, delicious, and homemade, probably one of the only places left to get a burger that is made from ground beef and fresh!! The Satellite Diner is a must visit in Clarkson with enough parking to fit your Motorhome if your just passing through, and enough seating to seat the entire family if you wanted to go there for a Sunday breakfast. Make sure to pop in and say hi, the TLC from the entire staff will make you feel at home, the only difference is you will have to go back home to take a nap when your done!!!
This restaurant has the best food in Clarkson. Service is on par and the owner, Katina, is very welcoming to her customers! The milkshakes, onion rings and home burgers are a must have. 10/10 would recommend.
