Really enjoyed this local watering hole. The food was really good. I had the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich. It was crispy with a nice sweet & spicy sauce. I added fries, they were shoestring, would have liked some other type. The Capital Hwy location is long, lengthwise, with a couple of rooms with tables. Family friendly, they may even have toys for the kids? They seem to continue with the 'Covid' style service: scan the QR code for the menu and the order from it. You had to submit ur phone # to get the menu, kind of a hassle, wasn't really keen on sharing it and possible getting spammed later. I suppose after the first time it gets better Call me old school, I miss having a menu and talking with a server. So do you tip if it's like a fast food place minus someone personally taking ur order and they only bring out the food and not even check on you? All in all would go back for the food for sure.
Really big fan of the toast ordering system they have. You're able to scan and order off your phone anything you'd like. I also like being able to sit outside and enjoy the lovely weather Oregon has to offer. The food was pretty good aswell. They have alot of beers to choose from. I liked their ciders.
This is one of most underrated breweries in Portland and is located in Hillsdale which is one of the most underrated neighborhoods in Portland. I had the delicious Josey Wales Crispy fried chicken sandwich coated in buffalo sauce, with honey mustard, pickled fresno peppers, and poppyseed slaw on a brioche bun with sweet potato fries and a Nitro Stout. Followed that up with a Mouth Pillow Hazy IPA and a Journey to the Cold Planet IPA.
Ordered the BLAT with tomato bisque soup and enjoyed a mouthpillow hazy. Yummy. Must visit if you are in the area. I did this after an afternoon hike. Perfect! Kid-friendliness: Kids toys and board games available
We had the “mission impossible” burger, big salad & focaccia bruschetta out on the patio after a walk in Marquam trail. Washed it down with “don’t be scared”.
Great Brewing Company & restaurant. I had the Nova Lager which is a nice light crisp beer. Grilled cheese was satisfying and had a little twist to it which adds character to the meal.
"Warm & friendly"? Not this place! I called in an order ahead to go. When I came to pick it up, I had the misfortune of being "helped" by the most apathetic server. They messed up my order, didn't explain why or apologize, and he rolled his eyes at me because they messed up! So rude. I ended up awkwardly standing at the bar for 15 minutes without any explanation of what happened, all for horrifically overpriced grease-laden, soggy, salty, boring, inedible food. The point of calling in orders before coming in, is so I don't have to wait for it to be cooked, which they apparently don't understand or care about whatsoever. The pretzels at Costco are honestly better by a long shot! I agree with the majority - There are much better options nearby, so I can't justify another visit here or recommended it to anyone. No response from the business says a lot, too . They're still calling this a "warm, friendly" place, get a grip.
Now featuring pub grub and a touchless ordering system using Toast, you can bypass being seated and choose your table, open a tab, order drinks, and peruse the menu, and order food when you are ready. Now that the Bertha Bridge is open it's an easy walk from anywhere in the neighborhood. Was open even during the snow storm when you just need to get out of the house. If you are old school, you can still swing by the bar at the entrance and say hello to the host, order a drink and food, and head to a table. There is a tent across the street where you can choose a table, use the QR code for your table, and order just like you would do on the deck or front -- all outside. The Big Salad may be the only one on the menu, but it is delicious, as is the vegan Impossible burger with lettuce, tomato, and avacado. It comes with delicious regular fries, but for $2 more the sweet potato fries are wonderful! Sasquatch is a brewery, and you can order a sampler test or enjoy your favorite Sasquatch brew. The Mouth Pillow Hazy IPA is a current favorite. Service is faster than most places because of the touchless ordering.
All their burgers can be vegan and gluten free! Super allergen friendly menu. Order through the staff or online so you don't even have to wait. Great food and drinks!Food: 4/5
Overall, I enjoyed my recent visit to Sasquatch. Food is basic pub fare plus, service is efficient and friendly. The atmosphere is more restaurant than pub, in a cozy older building. The beer is mostly very good. A couple that I tried were a bit over-sparged. The recipes are solid and the menu leans towards IPA styles plus seasonals 2 fresh hop beers this time, a couple of decent lagers and a weighty stout. I miss some of their more diverse past brews, such as the brown ale and Belgian golden ale. I know they're not IPAs, but couldn't they be brought back?
