Story

Situated on the top floor of the Hotel Eastlund, Altabira City Tavern is an American beer-centric restaurant and bar by Portland chef/restaurateur, David Machado. The restaurant is perched high above Portland’s fast-growing Lloyd District on the city’s East Side. With sweeping views of downtown, Altabira City Tavern offers smart pairings of food and drink in a modern yet casual setting.

Altabira features 16 tap handles of local craft beers, plus select European and Northwest wines and locally distilled spirits. Altabira’s dining room seats 50, the spacious rectangular bar seats 34. A gorgeous patio — with windbreaks, heaters and fire pits — accommodates 103. Five stunning private dining and meeting rooms — including the 3,400 square foot Cosmopolitan Grand Ballroom— feature floor to ceiling windows and breathtaking views.

I must say...this was one of the nicest meals I have had recently. The pineapple upside down cake dessert was wonderful as well. Great service. Great food. And a very nice local beer.

Excellent views, great food, and staff that expresses happiness. I had a very good experience, even though the rooftop was reserved for a private event. That gives me a reason to go back there though...

This restaurant was good overall. The view is nice. The Happy Hour was well attended. The space is not accommodating to seating groups larger than six. Food and drink prices are comparable to other restaurants in the neighborhood.

Amazing rooftop bar and restaurant. The meatballs and ribs are a must, plus the happy hour selection is impressive.

The food was interesting and tasty. Wine by the glass selection was limited. Nice views, 3 stars because of the fruit flies that were buzzing our table and getting in my wine.
