Ordered the Saray for 2. Although not on the menu, the owner was nice to accommodate our request. It was a lot of food for two people and reasonably affordable at around $50. The food was still warm when we got home. Loved all the different types of meat, the rice was flavourful, and the salad was a nice fresh touch. The only bad part was the bread which was hard to chew. Overall a good meal to try out turkish cuisine.
Loved it there, we had saray for one, portion was enough for two people. The Adana Kebab was perfect, tender and juicy tasted really good. Mozzarella Pideh and Lahmajoun were so good. The salad was served at first, not with the main course which we liked. The only problem for me was that I did not enjoy the bulgur that much, I prefer rice instead which is a personal choice. It was cozy there and the staff are friendly. Definitely recommended.
We went to this restaurant for the first time on the advice of a friend. The environment was relatively tidy and clean. Unfortunately, the spoons and forks were not very clean. We ordered three types of food. The Triple Soup was not really good and we could not eat it at all. The Mix Platter was good. The Lahmacun was very tasty and spicy . Unfortunately, the salad that came with the food was not fresh at all. After the meal, we ordered tea and Kadayif sweets, their good taste and were not affordable price. In general, it may not be bad to try once. Thank you
Very good management with good-natured, polite and excellent staff. Unique food. Live music that was really enjoyable. We had a memorable night in this restaurant. I recommend to everyone
I’m sorry to put such a low review - and I am not picky at all and all for small businesses… but I have never seen such a terrible restaurant, with the worst service, the worst tasting food and it’s not even affordable! We had the lentil soup, Adana, the Pita, and Kunafe for dessert. $90 The Adana itself was okay, but the rices were terrible. The pita was terrible, not comparable to a Turkish pita. The kunafe was honestly a complete joke. $12 for this tiny thing - that fits in my palm and was over burnt. I don’t want to compare to food in Turkey, but there are other couple restaurants in Vancouver which are 10000 times better and even cheaper and have way better service. The service is another story - there was no one in the restaurant. Just the owner - and he brought my plate 20 minutes before he brought my boyfriend’s. I started eating slowly and by the time I finished - he just got his food. I don’t understand - I don’t think you guys know how to run a restaurant. I’m trying to be nice here but give you honest feedback so you can take this and improve the service and food so you can succeed. Anyhow - I was truly disappointed with this restaurant and service. I would say it was probably the worst I have ever been to. I wish I spent the money in another restaurant instead.
Have a good time with your friends. An intimate environment with Turkish, Azeri, Arabic, English and Persian songs. Various foods that you must try. With gentle and skilled employees and a manager named Mr. Pouria, who managed everything very well.
Amazing atmosphere with great entertainment team and dancing on Friday and Saturday. Food is delicious, big portions. Went there for my birthday with a party of 12 people, everyone loved it. Service is ok, same as everywhere else now, kind of short of staff. But still ok overall. Everything else is great though. Coming back soon.
Ordered delivery: * Spinach Borek pastry $8.35 * Imam Bayildi stuffed eggplant $8.35 * Saray for 1 1 Adana + 1 Urfa + 1 Chicken Sis + Doner + Rice + Salad $29.95 * Mix Doner Platter beef and chicken doner, two kinds of rice, salad, and bread $25.95 * Kadayif Walnut pastry $6.95 All was pretty good. The doner was a bit dry but the rice it came with was moist enough to compensate. You get two good sized pieces of pita with the mix doner, but only small pieces with the saray for one. The Saray for one is definitely too much for a single person, but it made a good mixed plate for our family meal. I liked the Bayildi stuffed eggplant, but others thought it wasn't seasoned enough. Kids seemed to like the parts that weren't eggplant. The chicken doner was a child favourite. The adana is supposed to be spicy ground beef whereas the Urfa is mild. I didn't notice one was particularly spicy, but I thought the meats were well seasoned. We had lots of left overs, so it's possible I missed something. The eggplant was squished a bit in transit. Someone dove into the platter before I could snap a pic, so it comes with a bit more than this shot.
We really enjoyed our time at Saray. The atmosphere, music and the decorations represented the authentic Turkish culture. The food was really tasty. Alinazik kebab was tender and juicy. Iskender kebab was tasty too. We ordered Kunefe for desert which was OK but wasn’t the best one. Make sure to book in advance especially on weekends to get the best seats in the main dining area.
The best turkish food! I have been to Turkey and was looking for a good turkish restaurant. Finally , I found this place. Can't wait to be back to try other dishes.
