Went here for New Year’s Eve actually, first time. Much older crowd. Service was a bit frantic but I guess they were short staffed. Highlight was the traditional bruschetta for sure. Everything else was fine. Took a while for our food. Wine list was mediocre considering this is an Italian restaurant - had higher expectations, especially for NYE. Also I thought they could’ve done something extra for NYE just to make it special…but I guess not. Anyways, glad I went. I was always wondering what this place was like but it’s not really my scene and the food wasn’t good enough to return. I’ve had better eggplant Parmesan at a certain close by Italian restaurant which shall remain nameless and my date’s meal was also only okay. Sorry can’t remember what he ordered now. The portions were quite intense but when the quality is only so-so it seems over the top. But the bruschetta!! Something to consider…
My wife and I celebrated our third wedding anniversary here, and had a wonderful time. The service was great, and the food was fresh, hot, and VERY tasty. I’m very much looking forward to enjoying the left overs tonight We will most definitely be back!
Small restaurant but serve very good pasta in reasonable price. Their portion is big and service is great too. The flied calamari needs to be improve.
I had a surprise dinner date with hubby last night because he requested spaghettini alfrado with shrimp for dinner and I just didn’t feel like cooking, so I did my research for Italian restaurants and found Sandro’s in Thornhill before he came home from work. Sandro’s was amazing! I was able to order and pay ahead so hubby wouldn’t control my spontaneous gesture. They had our table laid out and ready for our arrival perfectly. The atmosphere was cozy with padded and pillowed booth seats. Other patrons were mostly senior but given the demographic location that was expected. It was a Wednesday evening and apparently I choose the best day as they had a live band which we that was phenomenal. Turns out the owner is a musician and held tune on drums wow! The portion size satisfied my 6 ft 4” 300 lb husband with 1 dish after a long day of construction. The presentation was great along with their prices. The servers and band were so fun and engaged in keeping their patrons happy. Will definitely return on a Wednesday of course. Highly recommended.
In the area for a night with my sister. Decided to go for dinner, thought this place looked nice. We walked in as it was a last minute decision. We couldn’t believe how rude the host was. He let 2 groups of peoples in and sat them before us they had reservations but did not even acknowledge us, like we were invisible. We were refused a table in a harsh tone as soon as we said we didn’t call in advance. Went to another local Italian place and they accommodated us no problem. Don’t waste your time
First time there and loved the place! The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. We had the pleasure of Liliana helping us and she was simply incredible. Will definitely be back and highly recommend.
What a beautiful spot. We don't get out much with the wife but so glad we chose Santo's. As soon as we walked in the atmosphere was welcoming and romantic. The service was top notch, completely charming and not forced or fake. And the food was delicious and fairly priced for a special outing. Highly recommended
We unfortunately couldn’t try Santos tonight because we were refused service. My partner at I got to the restaurant a little before 7pm after in hopes to order some dessert and coffee. We were being seated when I asked for the dessert menu and the host / server asked if we were not ordering dinner. When I said no, only dessert we were told he can not serve us dessert if we don’t order dinner. Such a same really as we have really been wanting to try this restaurant as we live really close. Guess we’ll never know.
Not sure if we ordered the worst dishes on the menu but the food really didn’t meet the standard. The waitress that welcomed us in was nice but not the one who served us. Two stars because the environment was not bad but the food itself only deserved one star.
The waiter is very friendly and gives us suggestions. The dishes are huge at reasonable prices, we almost packed half of food left over. Definitely we will come again.
