Family run restaurant in the heart of Glen Ellyn Met Rena and she told me the story of the 15 foot ficus tree in the skylight stairway Great for families with kiddos and they are quick and efficient with their service Staff was great, we had Elena as a server and she nailed it Great first time experience, we will be back! I concur with the following reviews: "Good atmosphere, clean, and nice decor. The food is lacking, the enchiladas where bland with no spice. The chips where extra thick and the sauce that was brought tasted like an enchilada sauce and the bowl was only half full. Not my first choice for Mexican cuisine and you could probably find better food easily." "Felt rushed." Yes, bland food, one sauce was like enchilada sauce and only 1/2 filled, probably so you won't eat as many chips. Second sauce was like tomato and cream sauce. Asked for other sauce to put on the dry enchilada meal and got a 1/2 filled tiny bowl and was charged $3! I wasn't even done eating and the owner was at the table trying to take away the dishes. $50 meal and they couldn't get us out soon enough.....just wanted to enjoy a nice meal out after being through COVID. Then they bring the mobile machine to pay the bill and they stand there with their hand on the machine at the table waiting for you to decide what tip to give while they hover over you! I gave less that 15% for just that fact. Very pushy and entitled. Fits the location.....
Love the atmosphere, very cozy and warm. Love the painting on the wall that looks as if you’re looking out a window. The food is very simple but done right. Fresh and tasty. Could use a bit more seasoning on the meat but if that’s the worst of it then not so bad. I’d definitely come back to try out more of the menu. First impressions are always the most important and they got my vote. Service was pretty good, I’ve had much worse in the past. Overall there’s lots of room to grow and improve upon! I can’t wait to see how it goes!
IWe have been coming to Santa Fe for 23 years! We love this place for so many reasons. The food is fantastic and most of all the staff and family who owns Santa Fe makes us feel so at home. Also, best Margaritas in the world!
The food was delicious, I personally had one of the best tamales in my life, they have a great selection, our 6 year old was even able to order a hamburger! And the staff is so sweet! They whenever we needed and were ready to help. It's a beautiful building and they decorated beautifully especially for the holidays! We loved this place 10/10 recommend!! Kid-friendliness: Our 6 year old really enjoyed the burger! He is a bit picky but he seemed to love it! Especially the pickle . The salsa wasn't too spicy for him. And they have great corners for bigger families.

I've enjoyed Santa Fe since waaaaay back when, when it was on Crescent. I haven't been there since Covid began, but it was a nice evening, and I saw they had a nice outdoor seating area earlier this week. They have room for maybe 12 tables outside. Despite nearby construction, they really made it pretty with flowers and potted plants. The large, colorful Frida Kahlo quote adds a lot of flavor to the patio. I came by about 5:15, and it was fairly empty- a few people inside, 2 tables full outside. We were seated right away, it took the waiter 60 seconds to bring our drinks. They have QR codes to scan for the menu, I'm attaching one side of a physical menu in the pictures the other side was too blurry to read, sorry! I got the enchaladas Mexicanas with 2 chicken, 1 beef. It was really good! Different from the regular enchaladas the sauce is dark and not sweet but excellent. I'll order again. Payment was done with a portable credit card reader. All staff wore masks. I'm sure I will be back!
We had high hopes for this place and it disappointed almost immediately. Our server was very casual, did not seem interested in giving good service. We had to ask for water twice and only got one for two people. The margarita was excellent. Unfortunately the food was subpar, it came out super fast which flagged me to think they just heat it up. *I'm a resturant manager, I know how it works. Halfway through I found a hair in my dinner and was turned off. They offered dessert but I was done. The last red flag for me was when I had to ask to have the dish taken off my check, it should've been taken off automatically. Safe to say we won't be back for many reasons.
