I was kind of had very high expectations on this one. I liked the bahn mi, yes, but it was not spectacular. The bread was regular hive-pattern one, bit too soft, I'd rather had used a French baguette. The picked veggies were really good, the meat portion was not generous, and it was too much fried for my taste. Again, yes, it's a place worth trying and food is good, but nothing spectacular. Also bit on the expensive side, I paid close to 24$ cad for a sandwich, San pellegrino and the tip.
Nice, clean, modern-looking establishment. I tried the pork banh mi and while it was flavourful, I don't think the value is there. I have had better banh mi sandwiches elsewhere in the city for actually half the price. $14 +taxes for a banh mi here is too steep in my opinion, I won't be returning on this basis alone. I did not try their coffee or ice cream so I can't speak to the quality or value of those.
Hidden gem. Server is a coffee genius, the food was surprisingly great for the price. It’s clean, fresh and a fun spot. Ended up coming here 2 days in a row. It’s across the street from Chum and is a great option vs hospital food. The pork bahn mi not shown was shockingly delicious! Would 100% recommend going.
Great little stop off the street. Solid menu and good selection of coffee drinks. The Banh Mi i had there was one of the best I've had, top notch. The barista was also very helpful and friendly. Finally, they have a good amount of coffee gear and other provisions. only thing I wish they had is Wi-Fi so I could work from here Vegetarian options: Various Tofu based options, that sounded and looked pretty good despite me opting for Chicken.
First time trying the tofu bahn mi from Mi Bao, and I just found my new favourite place. The quality of the bread has a great crust but still pillowy, the pickled veggies are so fresh, and the tofu was somehow very crispy while still being coated in a sweet sauce - everything was so perfectly balanced. The sandwich is also massive for the price of $12! The owner I believe was really friendly and shared more details about this really cute cafe and their vision for the place. Cannot wait to go back and try their drinks!!
I think they took the feedback from previous reviews and improved on it, there was a generous amount of chicken in the bánh mì I ordered. Tasted filling and fresh. The place was clean. I’d go againFood: 5/5
A single Banh Mi came to about $16, which is quite a lot for a Banh Mi. I was disappointed to see it didn’t come with any pate, daikon or sauces typically found in these sandwiches. It was a very gentrified Banh Mi. The meat was very flavourful and the bun was fresh enough. But at the price point I was not satisfied. There was beef option but it was only available as part of a combo with a soup that I did not want, it was not sold on it’s own which I found odd. Seating resembles a compact café, with one area renovated to be very social media-friendly when it could have been better used for tabled seating. Not really a fan of this place I have to say, would much rather go to a more traditional Banh Mi place.
Vietnamese with local overtones. The signature sandwich is Bahn Mi; they have a lunch version and also a breakfast version. Yet there's plain bagels, a BLT bagel, spring rolls, vietnamese soup, Asian salad, rice bowls, and noodles. My Banh Mi was spicy - so I bought a big juicy cookie. Latte was great. Service is quick and with a smile. There are seats outside and inside. Walking distance to Vieux Montreal.
The best sandwiches in town and very warm service ^-^ the pork bahn mi was so generous and dripping with sauce: it kept me going through the rest of my day. They've also got some great specialty coffee and vietnamese coffee as well: pandan being my favorite. Can't wait to come by in the summer, hopefully they'll have some new items on their menu
Had one chicken and one pork sandwiches and really liked both. They were spicy and I liked that a lot.Food: 5/5
