Sandpoint Pediatrics

We really like this place. We see Dr. Kuhta and love her. She is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Her medical assistant is great too. We always feel like we are in good hands. Facilities are obviously a bit old, but still feel clean. Scheduling is easy. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Thanks for nothing. I needed my son's vaccination records to register him for kindergarten. I called and requested the records be sent to me on a monday, by Saturday I still hadn't received them. I called over the weekend and left a voicemail stating this and requesting the records to be sent to me again. Now 2 weeks after my first request I don't have them. I once overheard 2 front office workers badmouthing a parent over the date they wanted their sons circumcision done on while I was in the waiting room for an appointment. It was that day I decided to take my kids elsewhere and I am glad I did. Level of service: FAIL

I have been taking my kids here for 3 years and will be finding a new doctor. I always have to wait a long time, usually 30 minutes at least in the waiting room. No one ever says sorry for the wait or give me any information. The doctors are always changing and the last time I was in, most if their nurses equipment was not working. They put my child and me in a room at the very back of the building because they were so busy and some rooms were piled with doctors belongings. I do not recommend this pediatrics

Brought my 14 year old daughter who is on the autism spectrum in to see the new Osteopathic Doctor. She had gone to this practice since two weeks old. She asked me to leave the room so she could talk alone with my daughter. I put my ear close to the door and caught the doctor explaining how my daughter could get a prosthetic penis! She also said (in front of me) that Sandpoint is not accepting of transgenders and I need to take her to an "LGBTQ" support group in Spokane. All because my daughter chose a less girly name and had shorter hair! I wrote a complaint to the supervising Dr., and their answer was that this is normal practice, that this Dr. is the most experienced in transgender issues, and I need to accept that my child is heading into adulthood and can make her own medical choices. This doc has caused psychological harm to my daughter! Docs are supposed to "do no harm".

I am so unimpressed with this pediatrics office. On two different occasions in the past 6 months it has taken the doctors an hour (that is not even exaggerating) to come see my child from the time the nurse calls us back into the room. No one ever comes in to give you an update as to why it is taking so long or even to say about how much longer. When I open the door to make sure we haven't been forgotten, I see all the nurses standing around "chit-chatting". The doctor that comes into see your child is more than likely a student doctor and at no point does an actual physician come in to confirm the students findings. One of the students misdiagnosed my son and gave him a prescription of antibiotics which were not even necessary. I have even requested that I no longer wanted my son to be seen by student doctors but they disregarded my request. I would rather drive to CDA than bring my son to this office again. The only good Doctor is Deland. I really liked him but it never works out that we get him, sadly.
