I’ve had good experiences with this place in the past but my last one with the billing department put a really bad taste in my mouth. Had to go into prompt care for an X-ray of my severely rolled ankle and beings I do not have insurance filed for low income pay assistance. I only ever got my doctors evaluation over $400 bill in the mail and nothing more. Also they didn’t take anything off the bill or explained anything about the paperwork I had turned in. I have excellent credit but had not payed because I was confused about the lack of communication and what I really owed. After a few months they sent me a letter telling me I was going into collection if not paid in ten days. I called them to figure out what was going on. Turns out they had sent my other bill the X-ray bill over $400 and evaluation of my discount to my old address. They never called my working number once the entire time and sent a person who has almost an 800 credit score to collection without even a phone call when they had the wrong address on file. Out of the two bills one for the doctors eval and the other for the actual X-ray I ended up owing over $700 after they took $200 off the X-ray bill. Of course I’m paying it off now but this hospital acted like a loan shark instead of treating me like an honest person who pays his bills. Also over $900 for an X-ray seems crazy to me but I don’t go to the hospital enough to really know the going rates of these things anymore.
Had my Mammogram done at the Radiology Center and the front desk ladies and techs were so lovely and nice and they make you feel good about any worries you have and their bedside manner is great! I recommend them highly!
Had to go to the ER about 3 weeks ago. I had the best physician Dr. Good he was caring and treated me with such kindness. Wish he had a family practice. Sandpoint needs more doctors like him. Thank you!!
The worst hospital experience of my life. The hospital is run down and looks like it belongs in a refugee camp. Avoid!
I had surgery this morning and just wanted to say that all of the staff at Bonner general hospital were wonderful! Everyone was very professional but friendly and kind and did everything they could to make me comfortable and at ease as I was very anxious! Dr Kristin algoe is a wonderful doctor. She is kind and knowledgeable and I had total trust in her! The anesthesiologist, Ian, I don't remember his last name was wonderful also! He was totally into making my surgery very safe! He took very good care of me! A big shout out to Russell who at the beginning of my experience was very professional but also was a jokester and put me at ease! Everyone was just wonderful and I would highly recommend Bonner general hospital!
Forced to admit our daughter here to the ER so she could get transferred to KBH. First ER doc said she was just throwing a tantrum. Second one took her seriously and got her transferred but would not talk with me or explain anything. I even heard him say he wouldn’t talk with me. They then tried to lie and say insurance would not cover if we left ama. I called my insurance who said it’s not true and I looked it up online. Totally bogus don’t let them fool you.
Came in early Sunday morning after a bad fall resulted in an ambulance ride. Dr came in maybe 3 minutes of course looked like she just woke up. I was complaining of extreme pain in side. She sent nurses into send me home with some pain meds and had them give me two shots for pain. Never saw Dr again, no X-rays sent me home. After two days of pain and no sleep went to my Dr who took X-rays, broken rib, why didn’t ER take X-ray and save me 2 painful sleepless days
I've had to come to Bonner general off and on my entire life the quality of the hospital is getting worse and worse. They loose test results, don't keep track of patients they have there half the time and don't collaborate with other hospitals. I don't recommend coming here if possible.
Amazing staff especially at the Covid collection site. People often forget everyone is understaffed right now, and I appreciate Bonner General and all the employees who work hard to keep the community safe. Thank you to the lab and the hospital as a whole for everything you have done and continue to do.
I've gone to emergency twice in the last 9 months. I was lucky enough to be seen by Dr. Hurt both times. He is truly one of the best physicians I have had in 60 years and 6 states. He diagnosed thoroughly, correctly, and provided an excellent and prompt course of action that guaranteed my recovery. Only downside is he doesnt have a private practice. But that just ensures the community has a great healer. Thanks so much.
