This theater is the best on Salt Spring Island also the only public one, but that makes it great! The movies are generally pretty good and the overall experience is nice. Seating is great, the screen is good and the speakers are very acceptable. The sound will not blow you away like in the bigger cinemas but it does the job quite effectively. Washrooms are accessible and clean enough. Food and drinks can be bought in the back of the theater, the popcorn is great. Parkin is plentiful and easily accessible. Overall, the experience is unique and definitely worth it.
Unique venue for a small community. Comfortable seats, with lots of leg room, and great audio/visual system. Screen is good if in the front half of the theatre, long thin layout puts you a good distance away in the rear half and screen seems correspondingly small. Floor not sloped so heads can get in the way. Portable air conditioner in the rear right can be distracting during quiet scenes for those nearby...
It is very unique, almost like time travel. I love sitting in a small movie theatre like this, it brings me back to my childhood. Everyone is really personable and you feel valued as a customer…I also love that you have an input and you can vote for movies you want to see. Just go to their website…I hope they will never go out of business!
As an MS-er tried to ask questions about the only showing I can attend on Sun afternoons. Fritz never replied once. Ghosted by the the only cinema since I have lived here in 30 yrs. If I could give zero, I would.
We love our little local island one room movie house. Ask to add the Salt Spring Island's favourite popcorn topping: Nutritional Yeast. Sounds terrible, but tastes great on popcorn. Seating is simply. The floor isn't raked for a good view, but the charm of watching a movie here at the Fritz is like no other. Like all movie houses, I get that they need sustainable profits but I sure do wish they had smaller confectionary items. Arguing with my kids about whether they can buy what looks like a pound of Skittles makes me want to bring my own items into the movie house so I don't have to fight them over gorging themselves on enough sugar to take down a rhino.

Very nice little cinema in an old building, comfy seats, friendly people, fairly prized and fresh popcorn.
I love the unique character of rural communities, and this theatre offers it up 100%. Do not expect a city-like film-going experience. It's a small theatre and screen, but the popcorn is delicious, the chairs comfy, and the staff friendly. I honestly prefer it to the overwhelming experience of big theatre.
I loved this cinema and the seats are SO comfy.
Cute little movie theatre. Definitely a good idea to get there early as it fills up fast. The popcorn seemed a bit stale but it was still tasty.
