This place will always have a special place in my heart. I am a big fan of places with just one or 2 screens. It has classy curtains and cool lighting. Popcorns pretty good. There are cafes and tasty resturaunts nearby. Just down the street you can also check out Time & Space Continuum for live music etc.
Arrive a bit early as they run a sparsely maned ship here. Both shows, tickets and food are serviced by one crew, through one line. You can wait a good while before you get to your seats so do us a favour and have it vaguely sorted as to what you want to order before you get to the counter. Not like the good ol' days where you bought your tickets and then decided if you want to get some seats or stand in line for food, etc. The kids had a good laugh at the "crisped rice" snack. Times are tough I guess. Once you get sorted the seats are nothing special which is like most theatres of this vintage.
Basic local theatre. All your basic movie fare. Not the best screen or seating, but a reasonable enough experience to enjoy a movie.
Great for an old cinema, price was good, seats were comfortable, didn't get snacks but did grab an orange juice. The only reason I gave it a 4 was the fact that the screen needs a touch up the center of the bottom had 2 good size smudges and it sort or dragged my eyes to it frequently. All in all it was a good experience I went and seen Top Gun 2, movie was horrible.
Hands down best movie theater popcorn I've had. Great prices, good rotation of movies. Love that it's so affordable and close by. Great spot for a date night, very close to downtown! We definitely prefer coming here over making the drive to Nanaimo or Victoria. Chairs can be a little uncomfortable but it's still a fantastic little theater to go catch a flick at.
Very efficient and I got in quickly. The ladies were super friendly.
I can't think of a better movie experience that I've ever had. I'm not sure what it is about the place: the faux wool ceiling, the centre 'new' seats, the ambiguous stains, the $5 Tuesday ticket price, the marks on the screen that show during movies, or the absolute massive screen. Needless to say, this is no IMAX; It's the antithesis of movie watching.
I love the smaller theaters. They want to many people & plenty of leg room
Been going to this theatre forever. It’s not a brand new place, but it has all the charm and great staff. Support local!
Despite this ""covid"" the staff is always great, we went to see the new spiderman movie. My apologies to those that were sitting close to me and my children, they were loud at times haha. I've been going to that theater since I was their age. It was my first theater I went to too, went and seen Jurassic Park the first one when i was younger. I'd definitely recommend seeing a movie there. Especially with the upgrades they've done to the place over the years. I was also there for Star wars: episode 1 Huge line up that we stood in for hours to go see ‍‍
