Cash only salon in the heart of Montreal's Chinatown on the lower level. Quick to serve and cut with a fade in only 10 minutes. Lots of hair products offered here, and they were still accepting walk-ins at closing time. The cut itself was only 12$! This will be my go-to stop whenever I'm in Montréal. Thank you!
I have been going there for almost 6 years and this is the first time I would call my experience unpleasant. I usually really like it there, but this time I had another hairdresser I have never had before, or even seen before, and though I sort of liked the haircut, when I got home I found scraggly bits. When he pulled open the drawer at his work station, it almost came out and could have fallen on me. Another hairdresser ran over to help him. I found it hard talking to him cause his English wasn't great. I also thought he wasn't going to clean the hair off me after the hair cut, but he did. When he gave me my change, they only accept cash, he almost grabbed some back and said tip. I found this experience unpleasant and not the usual experience I normally get there. I guess it pays to stick with your usual cutter, but they were all really busy, and I just assumed quality there I usually experience would be consistent. I know my hair doesn't take much longer to cut than a guy's hair, especially this time, but they usually charge more if you are female.
The haircut is acceptable. I was served by a kind woman, I didn't have to wait. Cut in 15 minutes and $12CAD. Great value for the price.
For those who are seeking cheap and affordable hair cut this is the place. Hair cut and wash are $19. There are two dogs at the salon so be cautious owners don’t like you to interact with them.
I've been going to this place for over 10 years. Personally, I always go with the owner, Mr Li. Never did I leave with a bad haircut. It's an affordable place, and the haircuts are amazing. I've been to expensive barber shops, and I don't feel it's worth the expense, unless your looking for a glamourous location. Salon Li is low key, efficient, quick, affordable and provides results
Fast and they ate open until a little later which is very useful for those who work.
Amazing haircut by Joyce! She is so talented and quick too. I absolutely love my hair cut. 100% recommend. Thank you Joyce and see you soon!!
Have been going here for years to get my haircut - I always ask for Joyce. She does a great job I have long layers that are shorter in front, longer in back. You can't expect anything crazy at an Asian salon in terms of service. But the price cannot be beat. The only thing I would avoid is colouring your hair here. I got highlights done years ago and the colour was way lighter than what I had picked out. I would leave colouring to the pros.
They accept cash as the only form of payment. And only really good days, they may even accept e-transfer INTERAC. I’ve read most of the reviews here and frankly, for $15 hair cut for female, we should really adjust our expectations. If you want tip top service, then go to other salons and pay 4-15 times of what you will pay here. People don’t really come to Chinatown for their exquisite service, people come here for cheap food and services. Manage your expectations in terms of service before you go. This is a a 4.5* in my opinion.
been going to this salon since i was 17. honestly the best price for a cut style and wash. i honestly think the bad reviews are from people who are fussy in life. this place is not your typical 200$ hair salon place that u end up regretting it in a few days. Boris has been my hairdresser all these years and i always trust his recomendations. all the hairdressers will ask you what you want and will do their best to fulfill your request. best salon in town in my books!
