Bakery & Indulgent Treats *** A decadent, kitschy, small batch, from scratch bakery in the sweet, historic little town of Genesee Depot.

Story

All of the items we make here at Sally's are made from scratch using real recipes like yo' Momma did. We are an "open shop" bakery and you can see everything that goes on in our sassy little kitchen. We fill up our breakfast pastry counter every morning, bake at least three or four kinds of breads each day, work all day to fill up our two dessert cases, make decorated cakes & cookies and serve up our Hot Ham & Rolls (right outta the oven) on Sunday mornings. Getcher buns in here!

Have ordered many cakes for work and everyone has loved everything we have tried! They did our special school bus cookies for driver appreciation and they turned out fabulous!! It's terrific to have a local bakery to go to vs a grocery chain. If you get a chance the jumbo cinnamon rolls are to die for!!!

Wonderful selection, including gluten free, which are especially tasty. Been disappointed a couple of times when items didn't seem fresh. Hasn't stopped me from going back, though!

Would give a zero, but it's not an option. I went in to get information about cakes and cup cakes and Sally was there. I barely got a hello. When I started asking questions, she was very rude and kept telling me the info was on line. Horrible customer service! I don't care how good it could have been, you don't treat anyone like that.

It all started with ordering cupcakes for a gender reveal party I was having to announce the gender of my first baby! The cupcakes were TO. DIE. FOR! I can't express enough how awesome they turned out! With such a great outcome we ordered his first birthday cake from here and his smash cake, both of which turned out horrible! The cake was horribly dry and the smash cake had little to no flavor for a vanilla cake but it was cute and exactly what I wanted so at least our pictures turned out good! The day after the party I called and talked to sally and she was bummed to hear about the outcome and reassured me that she would make it up to us! So for his second birthday we tried ordering the cupcakes again which were free of charge! They ended up being horrible most were dry and had no flavor and the size wasn't what we were expecting. In addition my sons giant cupcake we got looked like a three year old made it and I'm honestly not exaggereating it was topped with a messy green, yellow, and purple frosting with sprinkles on it. To be honest I couldn't believe they let it leave their bakery. Luckily for them my husband picked them up the morning of the party because I was too busy getting things ready. This time I didn't bother calling and complaining and chalked it up as another party fail. This wasn't just any occasion we were giving these to our family and friends as a Thank You for coming to our sons birthday which for his first birthday it was embarrassing enough then a second year in a row no thanks. I am not sure what happened through the years here maybe the expanding, I don't know. But it is a shame. I have tried other treats from Sally's and they sure are good!! All in all I won't be making any personal orders from here anymore but we have found a new bakery were trying next year in Whitewater we tried their cake and cupcakes which were awesome all of which were very moist and perfect to the taste! Hope this helps anyone ordering personal orders! I would hate for anyone to be disappointed on a much more special occasion other than birthday parties!!

I enjoy my monthly runs to get my dogs food because I pass through Genesee Depot. I always get a sticky bun. Everything is great there, but if they are out of sticky buns I am devistated.
