Such a great sushi spot. Their sushi rolls are far better then all the sushi spots around the area. I've been to them all in hazeldell and this one is my favorite. The Vegas roll is simply amazing. Alaska bake was absolutely phenomenal. The scallops were cooked perfectly melted in your mouth. All the sauces on top complimented the dish perfectly. All the flavors blended together so nicely. The restaurant is very spacious inside. The tables and booths are very roomy perfect for spreading out all the dishes to try everything. Restaurant was very clean. Staff very friendly. If you're looking for a great sushi spot this is it. Best bang for the buck

*Highly Recommended* 10/01/2022 4:00pm Jeung our server was super friendly, she not only took the time to explain the menu in detail since it was our first time but also got to know us. We felt welcomed like new family members to this restaurant, this alone would have made me come back Food: Spider Roll, Tempura Shrimp & Dragon Roll, Salad and Edamame. All was absolutely amazing, the taste of the food takes the cake this is now my new and only sushi restaurant I will come back to.

This is my favorite Vancouver sushi place is by far the best in town. I love sushi and am super picky. They have a wonderful chef and the owner is amazing. Love this spot.

The food here is absolutely delicious! I had a great experience and highly recommend it! Jueng was my server and is an outstanding waitress! She is super caring and when she recognized I was cold, offered me to borrow her Jacket. She gave me some great food suggestions for my boyfriend who is sick and just got out of the hospital. She recommended the beef bone broth soup and he loved it! I will definitely come back in the future.

This place is wonderful, Kim was the woman who greeted me and waited on me. She is very nice and sweet. The food is also wonderful from the back of the plate to the front from left to right: Smelt roe, Flying fish roe, Albacore, Octopus, Yellowtail and Spicy Tataki roll. Also baked mussels on the right. Will most certainly be returning I love it here.

We tried Sakanaya Sushi today for the first time and I can't believe that this restaurant has been here for 17 years?! Don't know how we missed this hidden gem. Staff was amazing and so attentive to our excited and hungry kiddo. Love the open sushi prep vibe in the middle of the restaurant. Try the Sun Shine, Seahawks, Volcano Roll, oh I can go on lol even the Shrimp tempura was on point . We all enjoyed our time here, definitely recommend this family friendly place.

Our new favorite sushi place! After the service at our previous favorite took a turn, we decided to try Sakanaya based on the great reviews. I’m glad we did! Our waitress the owner? was very attentive and friendly. The service was quick and the food was delicious. The belt was turned off but we didn’t mind. Will be back!Recommended dishesSushi

The conveyer belt is no longer in use and the food is on the slightly more expensive side compared to other conveyer belt sushi places. On the pro side, the food is presented beautifully and tastes great

Cute little sushi place! They have a very diverse menu without sacrificing quality or taste with any given dish. There are several vegetarian options so there's something for everyone. The staff were very kind and caring and regularly checked in to make sure everything was great. The only thing that could have made this visit better would be turning on their revolving sushi bar Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian options for sushi avocado roll, cucumber roll, pickled radish roll, tofu roll, etc and other dishes, including a vegetarian ramen.
