Saint Alphonsus Medical Group Lake Hazel Clinic Urgent Care

I have been here twice. First our receptionist is a doll. I came here because my primary physician would not listen to what was wrong with me. My problem was I have been sick since November. It worsened and I found I couldn't breathe. The nurse took me in right away to triage me. Yes, I was there a long time but they were extremely thorough. This is what I expect from my PCP. They did an EKG. (Yes, that scared me, but when you say you can't breathe I suppose they want to rule out anything heart related) They did a chest X-ray. Good call. Thought my PMC would at least do that. He did not. They did a strep test. Then a breathing treatment. These guys were not messing around. Finding out what the issue was and how best to treat is was what was important to them and that is what is important to me. I was diagnosed with Acute Bronchitis. (Which I knew since I had it 7 years ago) But, I really appreciated the detail to rule out anything else. The MA, Nurse, Radiologist , Collette and our gal the receptionist were absolutely dedicated to making sure I didn't leave that place until they were certain I would be on a road to recovery soon. I can name so many other urgent cares that would have told me to go to the ER because they don't have the equipment to do what they need to do. You need an urgent care? This is the place to go! Not a fan of this location at all. Last year when my daughter had the flu, the nurse who assisted us was so incredibly rude and lacked the bedside manor than any health care professional should have. She made my poor kiddo feel like she was doing something wrong for being sick. That, and they take FOREVER to help you. We have been there three times, and every time we were there for more than an hour at each visit. Unacceptable! We will instead go to the urgent care off of Maple Grove and Overland, and even on their busiest day, we are in and out in 30 minutes. Try harder, Lake Hazel.

I give two stars only because they helped in getting my daughters earring out that was embedded in her ear. It was very infected otherwise I would have just done it myself at home. There was 1 other guy in the waiting room when we arrived & as people were coming in they were just calling them back (it was a Sunday) I’m a really patient person and being that my daughter wasn’t in extreme pain we patiently waited, when the nurse took us back she kept making comments about me looking very young as a mother which was totally irrelevant. My husband had to use the restroom after we had been waiting forever & all of the nurses were just talking and laughing together, then one of the nurses came in to numb my daughters ear & said that Collete would be in no more than 15-20 mins just enough time to make sure her ear was fully numbed. About 35 minutes had gone by so I went out to see if she would be in soon before her numbness wore off & the nurses were too busy in conversation and said collete should be in soon, as we were walking back to our room she came out & said she’d be in shortly so I left the door open and about 10 mins later she finally came in and my daughter ended up pulling the rest of her earring out, she told us she would prescribe a topical cream for her ear because it was infected & that it would be ready in 20 mins at the pharmacy, it wasn’t called in and the pharmacy was closing in less than 20 mins. Called today and they just kept putting me on hold and didn’t have the best phone etiquette. Very unprofessional staff. I’m shocked that some people have jobs in health care. The girls that work in this urgent care need to step up their game instead of playing nurse & doctor and really treat their job like it’s intended.

Horrible place. Dr. Culpepper cares about money and you "15 minutes" more that his patients. My husband went to him and after a month was finally diagnosed with Lung cancer, no thanks to this place. Once I was told that "you have had your 15 minutes and I can not do anything else right now" really, all I asked was for his to check the lymph nodes that were swollen. Guess what , it was CANCER!!! do not take anyone here.

After 2 bad experiences with primary health clinic, went here and was very pleased with how professional the staff was and how clean the rooms were. And they accurately diagnosed the issue and prescribed the correct medications.
