Offering lunch in an atmosphere that has history going back to the early 1900's. Coffee and ice cream bar open 9am to 3pm Mon-Sat.-March - OCtober.

Story

Our restaurant has been offering lunch since 1984 and continues to serve the house favorite Chicken Salad plate the popular open-faced Reuben. Sandwiches like our Meatloaf and Lefse Wraps add to the menu. Food served 11am -1:30pm Mon.-Sat. March through October. Coffee Bar and Ice Cream Parlor open 9am to 3pm, Mon-Sat. March - October.

Our trip to the Driftless Area as well as our stay at Westby House Inn were both a first for us, and the bar was set high! While I have no other B&B experience to compare it to, I must say our time spent here was truly memorable and much preferred to a hotel. The hosts, to begin, were wonderful and Marie was very accommodating. We stayed in the Tower Room, best room in the house, which was immaculately clean and so well-appointed and lavish in its period decor, the old soul in me was in heaven! If you can splurge for this room, I highly recommend it -- so very unique and beautiful, you feel like pure Victorian royalty in the Tower part of the house. Adjoining parlor was great, as well, for extra seating, space, and further decor and furnishings style to take in. House was also very quiet, we felt like the only guests there and this experience continued at a late breakfast the following morning in the formal dining room. The food was delicious and the ambiance, divine! All local ingredients, and Marie cooks your breakfast herself :) I personally ate selections prepared for us that I'd be hesitant to try at home but Marie is a fabulous cook and our meal was amazing. Main dish were griddle cakes with a berry sauce and some type of nut garnish - very good! Also enjoyed the vanilla yogurt with seasonal fruit, courtesy of the creamery just down the road. Everything tasted very fresh and full of flavor. What a gem of a place tucked away on the outskirts of Western Wisconsin! We just loved everything about this place. Westby House Inn gets ALL the stars!

I called and the man who answered the phone was very rude and said there was nothing available for the next day. I saw on the website that there were openings, so I called back to verify this was true, and he very curtly answered that I should call back in the morning if I want to book something. A "nice" place like this should also have nice customer service. And if you're not happy about receiving calls late in the evening, don't answer the phone!

Very nice facility. Nice people. Food is very average. Cannot adjust temperature of room, boiled at night. Energy certification seems more important than guest comfort.

Beautiful room, very helpful and caring owners. We plan on making this an anniversary destination after the wonderful experience!

Love the history and attention to detail. Breakfast was awesome with lemon and blueberry bread with honey drizzled fruit.
