Amazing Manager, Pat is super talented, smart , friendly, and super sweet. It was a privilege that I got a chance to know Pat. She is super hard working, and she knows her stuffs. I love her passion and amazing energy. To top of it, I love their cake. I originally ordered 1 cake because of her passion. I ended up ordering 3 cake. My best friend took me out for high-end afternoon tea, and the location is by Victoria and McNicoll. I love the location last pic. The pink mini cake was bonus courtesy from Pat. Feel so blessed. This item is not for sale. That is too bad, but I have an honor to be able to try. Mangoes favor to die for. Omg some of the arts on the other cake are stunning and unique with beautiful and I know it is yummy in their own favorite highly recommend
Came across Ruelo Patisserie on Google Maps while searching for a good looking photogenic cake for Mother's Day. I purchased a 5 inch Wreath Pistachio/Sakura/Strawberry. The online ordering process was easy and picking up was smooth at McNicoll location. Unfortunately, other than the appearance, the cake is awful. Same as many other Chinese bakeries, they put too much effort into perfecting the appearance of their cakes, but zero effort on the taste, which is supposed to be the soul of a cake. This cake has a very confusing taste. It's a blend of many vague and unidentified aromas. Even when we picked only a single layer to eat, we couldn't figure out what it's supposed to be. Pistachio? Sakura? Strawberry? Nothing! It has no depth at all and we tasted nothing but the plain sweetness from sugar. Good thing, the cake is small. We're able to finish it fast enough and leave this unpleasant experience behind us.
Ruelo chocolate cake is its classic! Pistachios flavour is great too! Cakes are beautiful! I love them
Terrible place, cakes are decent but very overpriced. Main point to bring up, if you are ethical I would not support this place. They treat part timers like trash and don’t pay us properly, throughout my time working here you get talked down on constantly despite lack of training and they do this to multiple part timers. Other people have the same experience on Glassdoor. Would not recommend supporting this business, also they never issue refunds. So when buying a cake make sure it’s the cake you want cause they will not offer you a refund. Also the plastic holder for the mini cakes that you have there are all reused. They said they want to cut costs so they reuse those for most of the high tea sets/mini cakes. You’re better off going to daan go, Duo patisserie, manzou bakery or lala bake shop. They’re all Asian owned, with great prices and amazing cakes.
Nice selection of birthday cakes, single serve pastries and of course, macarons! Their macarons are a bit too sweet. They do offer high tea and you can check out if they have deals on Groupon. Easy to find parking!
Excellent service. Ordered pick up for mother's day and an item was missed. They immediately had someone deliver the missing item to my house without prompting. Overall quality is pretty good, though this years mother's day afternoon tea set was not as good as last year's.
Their service needs improvement. I had ordered a cake well in advance to be ready for a specific time. As soon as I enter the store Im made to wait for 10mins. No one has noticed that Im inside. Even after calling out to someone in the back they do not notice. I then have to call the store while Im in the store for someone to notice that Im here. When I tell the lady Im here to pick up my cake she rushes to the back. After another 5 minutes of waiting she tells me they need another 5 minutes. I can now see them in the back getting the mirror glaze ready. In other words my cake is clearly not ready! 10mins later another lady comes out with my cake. The decoration and writing on my cake is sloppy! She tells me that they forgot about my cake. The cake hasnt even been given enough time to set. I paid 45 dollars for something that looked terrible. I understand that it tastes good but when you are gifting a cake to someone you also expect it to be presented decently! In the end all she could say was sorry. They wasted my time and didnt even bother compensating for the rushed work!
Came for afternoon tea and really enjoyed the experience. I came with two 3 year olds so we didn't want anything too formal. The decor was pleasant, I like the reservations only system, and since it's afternoon tea I expected the set menu. Love the tea selection, the scones, croissants, and the raspberry chocolate macarons.
went there today a friday noon time, it has no sign outside and the open sign off too. inside looks like it's a half workshop half cafe. there's nothing in the showcase to sell, i mean nothing at all~ so weird. After ask , the cashier said they made only two kinds of mini cakes today, and it's $6.95 +tax each. I bought one, it's very very tiny and be packed in a very nice box, that makes me feel it's super expensive and part of my money just goes into the box that i cant eat ;D. you'd better tastes really good or i wont be back anymore. Kind of strange experience.
People only come here for the afternoon tea when they purchase a Groupon. Beware of the Groupon scam - you have 3 months to redeem from date of purchase. When calling to make reservations they tend to be closed 50% of the time unless you want to go on a weekday afternoon. When the Groupon expires, you're stuck with it because the purchase value is only good for their tea time option, and the different you'd have to pay is more than buying a new one. Pastries are far from fresh with mixed consistency. The service is non existent. The girl only shows up when you're ready to pay, which is when everyone goes up to get water refills for the tea. It is definitely not worth the original price, but with the Groupon price I would still give the overall value a 5 out of 10.
