I made a 911 call to report a domestic dispute. Told them I was enroute to remove an 18 year old man from his home where his mother had punched him in the head. I didn't want to arrive alone as I know this woman has a history of violence. I arrived....no police. I got the son in the car and we waited 50 min. Nobody showed up. The woman was screaming and in my face. I called back and was told my name was nowhere to be seen in a file. The officer was not taking me at all seriously. After some checking the call was discovered and I was told the call had been cancelled and now they were at a break and enter and we're too busy to attend. I was also told it was "a miscommunication". I was told if the young man I had in my car wanted to give a statement he would have to go the the office....but later, they were to busy to deal with it then. By this time it was 12am. This is beyond unacceptable. We needed help. Nobody came. I had to do it alone. The woman I faced was out of control and also holds a black belt in karate. I was scared someone was going to be hurt further. The next morning I called in to lodge a formal complaint. Nobody returned my call so I called AGAIN in the afternoon. I was on hold for 15 min while they tried to "find a supervisor" who could take my call. The call literally got nowhere. I am completely disillusioned with the RCMP. They are extremely fortunate that someone was not seriously injured while they were too busy miscommunicating and attending a b&e.
