BEST FISH AND CHIPS ON THE EAST COAST!! Or anywhere for that matter! Nice thin batter with seasoning in it! Absolutely delicious!! So happy we ate here. Vintage looking diner with great oldies music. Every bite of food was delicious and perfectly cooked. I really appreciate the in house made tartar sauce, too many places give out packets. Hostess was friendly and quick service. This is my new go-to spot when I'm in town. The only thing missing is a big bike out front for display. Thank you!
I love this place! It’s a perfect sized Americana influenced diner with great food and awesome staff. The sign on the door noted that they were looking to hire wait staff. Our waitress was talking with locals about how short staffed they had been - especially when it was busy in the summer — I say this because despite it all, our waitress was super friendly and served us with a big smile! We definitely did not feel like tourists Like you’d expect from a diner - the coffee was awesome!!! Our food came quickly but yet we didn’t feel rushed. Restaurant Route 66 is a great place to eat breakfast in Shediac - it was super convenient for us as it was a few minutes from our campground.
We won a gift card to Route 66 and we are so thankful that we did because we would've never discovered how amazing this place is! My husband ordered the cheeseburger combo, I had the chicken chapati combo, and then we shared a donair wrap. We had no complains whatsoever. From the amazing staff, absolutely delicious food, and the fun ambiance, it was simply perfect. Their food tasted so fresh, it was great! We can't wait to come back!
I had the special donair burger. Very good. Wife had the donair wrap and was pleased as well.
Fish is awesome but it’s not English batter or pub style. It seems to be an herb seasoning. The poutine is amazing and the onion rings are great but, the tarter sauce seems to be mostly mayo garbage from a bottle which completely ruined the fish. The menu is very limited. It’s a nice place to try, but if you want a good fish bring your own tarter sauce.
Perfect place for a pit stop. Burger was great; next time I'll try a chapati!
This place is amazing. The staff is super friendly the food is delicious. The dining area is very clean bathrooms are spotless. The prices are great The food comes out at a great time. I highly recommend Route 66 for you breakfast lunch or supper. It is now our favourite place . Thank you for doing such a great job
The owners will go above and beyond to provide great customer service. We ordered takeout: chicken chapati and chicken burger. The chapati was unique and delicious. Burger was perfect. All ingredients were fresh. It was our first experience there. We will definitely be back for more!
Absolutely amazing experience here. I had the Fish and Chips, it was phenomenal. I don't usually eat seafood but decided to today. My son was crying for an apple and our serverAnnie gave us her OWN apple from her lunch!! Needless to say, exceptional service!!!!! My jaw dropped when she offered him it and not to mention a delicious chocolate cake at the end of the meal. I would honestly drive an hour here, not even to go to the beach, just to eat.
What a cool spot! Feels like you are right o Route 66...from the eclectic decor to the oldies music. Menu is fantastic. Quite a little gem this place is. Food was awesome. Will be going again.
