Roland On the River

This is a great spot in slave to camp. The owners Betty and Roland are the best people. So kind and very well equipped for campers for all kinds. Right on the lake. Very well kept camp grounds. I recommend to go there first. Thanks guys for the great cabin I rented.

Roland and Betty are the nicest people in the world. They make me feel like I am the most important guest in the campground, when in reality, they treat everyone like that. They are awesome. Best campground ever!!!

If your looking for a loud and rowdy place to camp, this is the place! After trying to sleep despite the loud music and voices, we called the office….. 1 hr later and the noice continued with no one coming to enforce quiet time. This was at 1230 am, we called again, the owner drove through with his truck and didn’t speak to the rowdy campers. Five minutes after, the music got louder. With no action being taken by the owners, we ended up packing up our tent and other belongings at 2am and finding a hotel. Very disappointing stay to say the least. This is not even to mention the poorly kept grounds and disgusting showering conditions. Save your self the experience and choose anywhere else.

We booked on a back site and the previous campers wanted to stay longer on that site so Roland and family put us in a site right on the river.Just awesome. Rented a boat and their son guided us out on the lake for an hour and showed us how to fish Slave Lake walleye. We all caught our limits and released many over the next 3 days. Great people and campsites.We will be back.

Campground itself is OK at best. Convenience is being on the river if your main goal is fishing. They charge you to use one of their docks which are super narrow and generally unsafe. Personally, I'd skip this place and head 20 mins north to the provincial park if you want a nice, well maintained campground.

Roland On The River is our favourite place to go with friends and family to camp. The fishing is incredible!!! Everyone is friendly and social. There is always a game of horseshoes or ring toss going on and everyone is invited to play. The campground and washroom/showers are always very clean. We have such a great time sitting by the fire sharing stories enjoying a glass of wine or beersky. Rolly, Betty and their entire family are the greatest!!

We stayed in one of the cabins for 3 nights. Everything is supplied. You just need to bring linens,towels and clothes. They have daily and monthly rates. The cabin even had a full size oven,pots and pans, big fridge,microwave and coffeemaker. Thanks for the great stay.
