It is a nice campground. Be prepared for mosquitos. Showers are nice and clean, coined operated, one dollar was enough for me. There is firewood available for purchase. The beach is very close, lots of hiking paths to explore. There are fish washing stations.
We've been coming to this campground for 19 years and counting. It's the most beautiful place I've ever been camping. Amazing fishing, big forest between sites and great paths for biking and walking.
Beautiful campground surrounded with lush boreal forest. Easy access to the beach .this area is well Protected unlike southern park of Alberta.hopefully it’ll be protect for centuries. Good place for night-sky photographer.Clear night we saw super clear Milky Way galaxy .
One of the best campgrounds at Lesser Slave Lake. Lots of amenities, well kept sites, and great beach access.
Great campground, great beach, lots of wildlife, hikes, huge lake, trails.
Probably the best campground I’ve been to in Alberta. So peaceful. Close to a town but not too close. Loved the lake and beach, wonderful powered sites, flush toilets and showers. We will be back!
Nice sites, good beach walking. Could use better/more firewood after Sept long weekend. Restrooms: Pretty clean, handicap accessible. Also large shower house with flush toilets.
10/10 would recommend especially for families. Just spent the last 10 days there with our 4 year old daughter and she loved it. We weren’t sure about the length of stay camping but the campground did not disappoint. Our daughter had the best time. We were in C21 no hook ups and it was the perfect spot close to the beach trail. We could hear the waves at night and it was so relaxing. The water was super high so there wasn’t much beach but we made the best of it and swan every single day. The fish scavenger hunt was so fun and we enjoyed the berry bingo and nature scavenger hunt. The amphitheatre was great on Saturday evening at 7pm and had covid guidelines. The playground was fantastic just wish there was swings. The drinking water available around the entire campground was a bonus and the newly renovated shower rooms were also great! We were so happy they were open! We made the drive from Calgary and it was worth it. We will be back for sure. A truly hidden gem!
Staying here was a beautiful experience and we will be back without a doubt. I read previous reviews from visitors saying the beach should have been groomed, but we were thankful it wasn’t go to a resort in Mexico if you want a groomed beach. The rocks and driftwood were stunning, and the charm of this place was in how remote and wild it is. Tons of bear tracks followed the shoreline along with evidence of their freshly caught dinners. A reminder of how truly remote and wild LSL really is. We went off-season which was intentional as we wanted to enjoy seclusion after the labour day rush - zero regrets, zero complaints. Nobody remained at the gate and only two other campers, yet the grounds were still exceptionally maintained. Truly a hidden Alberta gem.
Great campsites. Lots of trees but very few bugs. Quick access to the beach.
