Very old bar and restaurant with a variety of foods including an extensive Schnitzel selection. We had a late lunch and found service a bit slow but I'm sure it would pick up at dinner time. Soup of the day was watery, but the Schnitzel Caesar Wrap was right on the spot. That and the crunchy fries was more than enough for Sue and I to share. Prices are very reasonable too. Only had lunch here did not stay at the motel.
Staff very friendly, but the food, was not impressed. Had ribs, greasy and very difficult to eat… fries were good and veggies. My friend had escargot, good but could use a little more garlic. He did say the gravy was good on his mashed potatoes. Maybe I got enough night will try againService: 4/5
Replying to your question. I would have spoken to the manager or waitress but unfortunately one of the guests with me was mentally unstable and this would not have been a favorable outcome for anyone. Aside from the food, the bottled water is what impressed me the least. Sorry. The food was not thoroughly cooked. I had Quesadillas where the pita was barely brown and the cheese unmelted. My partner had battered fish and the batter was not fully cooked. What threw me most was the fact that water available was bottled only. In today's environment, this should no longer happen in our society.
Arrived with a whole team of hockey players, staff were amazing in dealing with them. Very organized and got a huge amount of food out quickly. Will definitely be returning when in the area again. Kid-friendliness: Staff were awesome dealing with 14 teenage boys including enforcing no phones at the table and reminding them of their manners Very happy parents.
Absolutely amazing service. Funny, laid back and honestly felt like a local even though we were far from that town, we came from Sarnia Had the wing special and I just found the wings too bready/fried/crunchy with little meat. Honestly well worth it to go for the atmosphere and serviceFood: 3/5
Looking over the many comments the SAME answer from owner is- " Did you tell your waiter?" My question is WHY should the quality of food NEED to be mentioned? get better cooks. I've eaten there a few times since Covid and actually enjoyed my meals especially her mom's HOME-MADE pies! However, last night my friend whom I treated for her birthday, and I were very disappointed. Our snitzles were sooooo overcooked - burnt in some spots. I asked our waitress for a steak knife saying the batter is hard to cut. So she knew. Then when it was time to have one of the delicious pies I usually get coconut cream or lemon we were told the only pie was " strawberry - rhubarb" and they were sold out of the other pies. SOLD OUT- this was Valentine's Day - might more pies have been made for this occassion. Any way, we could not see any rhubarb or strawberries - just something like a jam type of filling and we ate early - 5pm. I'm guessing the owner's mom isn't making her pies - which is a shame.
Service was great, the food was ok. We did get some cold veggies, and some missing items. But the staff did sing happy birthday to our middle child and gave him free dessert
The breakfast my wife and friend had were judged as good but my eggs bennie were overcooked and the yolks were unfortunately not runny. I was not offered a coffee refill. All the same we were grateful they were open on Thanksgiving as we were all hungry and ready to eat brunch.Food: 3/5
Food used to consistently amazing. Now quality is not consistent and many errors made in kitchen. I find outrageous that management refuses to serve tap water to force you to buy something to drink
Theres one particular waiter thats an absolute a$$hole. Me and my hockey team came to eat and THE SECOND we sat down she yelled at us to take our hats off or she wouldn't serve us, then when we would go on our phones, she would yell at us to put it away and socialize, when its not even any of her business. On top of that the food isn't even good anyway, and the prices aren't great either. I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS PLACE, EAT ANYWHERE ELSE. Keep in mind this review is from Jan 15 2023, maybe things have changed by the time your reading this, but I wouldn't know because I'm definitely never going to this place again.
