Rockland Bar & Grill

PLEASE do yourself a favor and stop by here. I was thrilled but apprehensive about a new restaurant on this notoriously unlucky stretch of Union Street, but I like to support a local business so tried it out right after the opened. I've been back twice since. Everything is delicious, cooked with care, fresh, flavorful. Seriously. I've tried something new each time and have loved each meal as much if not more than the last one (I keep being tempted to repeat what was so good the previous time, but I want to try a bunch of different things.) The only comment I have (which I've seen reflected in these reviews) is that there has been a wait disproportionate to the amount of people dining there. By which I mean, yes it was pretty much full each time I've been there, but the wait did not seem comparable to similar restaurants of similar size. The last time we went, my companion and I both commented that we could really have done with a basket of bread or some crackers at the table...the wait was that long and we were that starving. But neither of us were drinking...maybe the assumption is that you'll have drinks while you wait for your food? I need to circle back around to say I wouldn't take a star off for this. It's not ideal, particularly when you're really hungry, but the food more than makes up for it. I feel genuinely happy that this place will succeed and stick around! This place is amazing! Definitely a good spot for vegetarians. Probably the best veggie burger I've ever had. We also got the nachos and they were amazing, as well. The service was superb 👌🏻 and the waitress was wonderfully friendly, as well as helpful. Would definitely go for another visit, when I'm in the area.

First time here. Would definitely come back for another Reuben. The best ever. The corned beef is nice and thick, very tasty. The sauerkraut is caramelized adding awesome flavor. Extra Swiss cheese made it the perfect Reuben.

This place was so awful! A friend of mine has been to this place and told me it was totally empty and the service was terrible. Against her judgement I decided to go with my husband. Let me paint you a picture my husband is there for nearly a half an hour before being greeted. This came as a surprise to us considering the place was empty. I decided to(politely)ask the bartender if everything was being prepared. She replied by stating "it's ready when it's ready". At this point I requested to speak to the owner. Unfortunately this man was as professional as her, stating "that's it cancel everything." I asked him if he understood that at this point there are social forums that people can speak about their experience at restaurants. He said "I don't care say whatever you want." I pointed out that his place had very few people in it and perhaps he should change his attitude a bit. This man did not take well to this and started cursing at us. I don't think I've ever been so appalled in my life!

Long day. It was late dinner for me. Never been here before. They have a shepherds pie with my name on it. Seasoned perfectly. Most places make it way too salty. This was just right. I will eat here again.
