Amazing food with great ambiance and cocktails. The food was above my expectations. Service was impeccable. It's quite an experience to have dinner in an old bank. It is expensive but worth the price. Perfect restaurant for a date or a night out with friends

Business travel on Valentine's Day resulted in 6 guys with our wives & girlfriends in other locales. It was apparent all the couples & groups around us were enjoying their Valentine dinner. As did we. Upon entry, to departure, and all points in between, service was attentive, timely, and always with a smile....on a very busy night. Food was deliciously prepared as ordered across the board. What a great place to enjoy a nice dinner in the city.

A true food experience. The dishes are unique and it would be difficult to find them elsewhere. Service was top notch. The only critique would be the size of the main dish is small when taking into consideration the price. Regardless, I will recommend Riviera to anyone.

Went last night for Valentine's Day with my boyfriend. The place looked like it was fully booked for the night (he got a reservation 3 weeks ahead). The food was delicious -- the piglet was well seasoned, and the cod was paired with a slightly spicy sauce (however, it was unfortunately a little bland). The octopus starter was amazing, as was the baked alaska dessert (the cream was mixed with marshmallow to give it a sweet and stickier consistency!). Mixed drinks were very tasty and balanced (and I don't even like alcohol). Service was excellent, and the atmosphere was refined yet comfortable and simple. Overall highly recommended gem in Ottawa, if you're looking for a place for a special occasion -- it's not cheap! :P

I have been celebrating every important event in my life at Riviera over the past year and it has been nothing but perfect. The only issue occurred a few months ago when my boyfriend and I made a reservation for our anniversary and arrived 5-10 minutes late simply because of traffic. When we arrived at the restaurant, the hostess took our names for the reservation and the first thing she said to us was "Well... you're late" in an awful tone. Completely rude and inappropriate. That was my only minor problem with the restaurant. Other than that, we have had an AMAZING server named Collin the past 2 or 3 dinners. Very professional but also holds a good conversation and recommends good dishes/wine. Definitely will keep coming to Riviera.
