I love love love this Clinic. First of all, they are so very kind to helping strays...of the world..I was able to adopt a kitty saved by Adopt Me Cat Rescue, Sandi Lawson.. Every weekend Dr Sherri Dennett offers her goodwill to help offer her veterinary services for Sandi with super excellent exceptional kindnesses so many many many kitties are rescued to new owners... As a result, I go a great distance from Byward market area to bring my kitties back to her....well worth the time.... Dr Dennett has a flair of super excellence in thinking and practices. I recommend her to ALl

We have had several different types of pets dogs, cats, rats, and a lizard, and Riverside South Animal Hospital has always been there to support us. I recommend them to anyone who needs a vet! The Doctors and staff truly care about you and your pets, always giving their honest opinion. I haven't had a better Doctor or clinic for my pets!

Dr. Fitch and her staff are wonderful. When we adopted guinea pigs she compiled and sent me all kinds of nutritional information. They were very kind when I said goodbye to my dear cat Lily. Even though we are moving, I plan to stay with RSAH - I trust and appreciate them so much

Unfortunately my experience with them regarding a basic prescription was extremely poor. I called in a prescription after my dog seeing the vet detailing that I would like the generic version of the drug. There was no issues and they did not mention anything about not being able to prescribe the generic version over the phone. Upon arriving to pick up the prescription a day later, I find out in person that they have the brand name version only. This is the reason for the 1 star review: 1 After asking why they did not order the generic version as requested, it started out with "we typically don't prescribe the generic version", despite not saying this on the phone. 2 I brought in the previous prescription of the generic medicine I had. The response was "that looks like it is for humans" despite the label clearly stating "for vet use only on it". 3 Then I got a "I've never seen that before, did you get that in the states". Then went on to tell me about how the company is in out of Toronto. 4 Then it was something to the effect of "We have prescribed that before, but after 4 weeks no-one wants it anymore, the brand name version is superior". 5 The 15min conversation culminated with them saying they can order in the generic version with quote "not a problem". So it took persistent questioning from me to come to a solution they knew existed all along. To say the least, it was infuriating and extremely disappointing. Why didn't they just order the generic version as I requested in the first place? The bottom line is I truly believe they were looking out for their own best interests in pushing the brand name version of a product due to its significant increase in price. This speaks to greed and hoping unsuspecting clients don't know any different. What other facets does this mentality extend to?

Dr. Fitch is phenomenal with rabbits. It's hard to find a rabbit savy veterinarian in Ottawa. She's very informative and also extremely patient with my rabbits. I highly recommend this clinic.

I have read a few of the reviews discussing the lack of compassion shown particularly during the euthanasia process and feel compelled to write a review based on my own recent experience. My retired Service dog Zuko recently and rapidly started showing symptoms of decline and after calling several vets who were either unable or unwilling to administer care to my now in distress trusted friend and partner, Riverside South whom I had never even heard of previously as I live over an hour away, agreed to see us. Unfortunately, in the end the diagnosis was as I had feared and euthanasia was his only option. I have to say that the compassion shown by all the staff was exceptional especially considering neither I nor Zuko had ever met any of the staff before that day. From the young girl out front I apologize for not remembering her name who offered me kind words and a hug, to the staff who carried Zuko on a blanket from room to room so he could remain comfortable, to Dr Fitch and Dr Dennett both of whom stayed over an hour after close to perform the procedure. During that time Dr Dennett in particular allowed me as much time as I needed to say goodbye to my little buddy and offered me sincere compassion throughout the process. I also appreciated her professionalism and detailed explanation of what Zuko’s issues were and the alternatives and prognosis for each, before the decision to euthanize was made. Although I left there feeling sad beyond words, I at least was content in knowing that nothing more could have been done for Zuko and that the proper decision was made. And that at least his last few hours were spent amongst people who truly cared about him and showed him genuine affection. Thank you all.

Great staff, very friendly. They made my cat feel at ease. They even washed out my carrier after my cat had an anxiety "accidet" in the carrier on the way to the vet.

We've been taking our dog Harley to RSAH for the past 5 years. The service they provide is unlike any other, the staff and doctors treat Harley like he's their family. We have had to take Harley in for a number of issues lately and they are always so great at easing our nerves and making sure we're informed. We always receive follow-up e-mails from the staff checking in on how our dog is doing and making sure that all our questions are answered. We are beyond impressed and so very lucky to have RSAH in our neighbourhood.

This clinic is more scammy then the bot comments here. Please take time to do your due diligence with this establishment. They should be reported to the vet college.
