I must admit that my rating comes years too late, since I bought a violin at this shop as a student and it went a few years unplayed while I was in school. However, I recently had a crack in my violin that I am now told was due to improper gluing (the repair work was done by Riedstra). Upon opening my violin, the person that I am now entrusting to fix it showed me about 15 different things that were VERY poorly repaired on the instrument (from using improper glue, broken pieces, poor bridge cut, improper setting of the neck, shallow fingerboard, poor varnish touch-ups, sloppy glue), etc. that are now going to cost me more than $4K to repair. Definitely is NOT a shop that cares about quality workmanship, if you're looking for a cheap student violin maybe this is ok but the fact that he pretty much ruined a beautiful fine instrument has left a really bad taste in my mouth. His poor workmanship is making me go into debt to pay for the repurcussions. DO NOT buy an instrument here or trust this shop to do any repairs.
