Ricky's is consistently mediocre, the place anywhere in Canada where you can count on getting a decent breakfast to set your day off on a good start. This Ricky's, however, used to be Charlie's, the classiest restaurant in Whitehorse, with possibly the best French Cuisine in Canada. I know, I was one of the cooks there from about 1980-1982. Came back today to reminisce.
We have been out to Ricky‘s for dinner for five times. Each time we had excellent service and our meals were absolutely delicious, we were full and satisfied at the end of the meal, we’ve had burgers, poutine, braised wine beef short ribs, and the Philly cheesesteak every time it was delicious. tonight we had some starters and it was the twisted nachos and the chicken tenders the chicken tenders were beautifully cooked light and crispy my nachos were absolutely delicious we would recommend dining here for dinner any day we come in from Haines Junction and look forward to date night here
So took Sam for brunch today at Ricky’s and man we got more than we bargained for … in a couple ways! …. We got entertainment !… from a couple can can dancers. That was pretty awesome! Then Sam noticed she had company on her chair! Bed bug When we told the staff all we got from her was…”0h sorry about that!” And that will be$$$ as she took my card! ….. don’t get me wrong we are greatful for the “tasty food” but not being brushed aside with tone! At least say it like you really do mean it! Guess they don’t want our service ever again with that attitude!
Poor and slow service. Other guests had mayo put on their toast instead of butter. Our meal for 6 took the better part of an hour from order till it was served. I thought that new management would change things but clearly it's just gone further down the tubes
Had ginger bowl and was really good. Bit spicy and flavourful. Others I was with enjoyed their burgers. Staff were friendly.Food: 4/5
Food was very bland, I had the happy hour specials. The fries that came with poutine were too soft, the chicken tenders were too oily and really did not have much flavour, the “so good pot stickers” were not that good at all. Waitress was very nice, but she had to tend to all the tables so wait times took longer. Breakfast is better here.
We have eaten here a lot in the last 2 weeks as we having been staying at the hotel. Lasagna was awful- the vinegary tomato sauce was gross and I threw most of it away. Tonight my husband had the braised beef ribs, photo attached, $25 and didn't even fill half the container. It was supposed to be root vegetables but it was broccoli, cauliflower and carrots instead. Also a tiny scoop of potatoes. The best were the King burgers and the grilled cheese sandwich and tomato basil soup. Portions are incredibly small and the prices quite high. Staff were very friendly and delivered our food to our room very quickly.
Good service, the poor waitstaff seemed overwhelmed. The food was good for the price, though I felt that the teriyaki sauce on the tacos was too sweet. My husband says that the Veal deserved 4 stars.
Great option for a brunch or breakfast. Good prices and huge portions to be had. Lots of spread out of seating available so you don't feel squished in when the place is full.Food: 5/5
Takes forever to get your food here..servers casually walk around just happy to be here..when u do get your food there's not much taste to it..not seasoned and very bland..been there 3 times..usually spend the next hr in the washroom once I leave..dunno if dates are checked for freshness or what
