Guilty indulgence or therapeutic benefit?

For years, this question regarding massage therapy has been raised. Unfortunately, much of the public views the ancient healing art as an indulgence reserved for a privileged few rather than a benefit to the body.

Close friends Jessica Lavoie and Morgan Woodard are committed to change the common misconception about their practice.

Most people don't realize massage is the oldest medical treatment in the world, dating as far back as 2500 BC. With that in mind, Jessica and Morgan set out to create an environment where the benefits of massage therapy are demonstrated, promoted and advocated.

The name Revival was chosen not only because massage therapy literally revives one's body, mind and soul, but also because Jessica and Morgan embrace the opportunity to revive the true purpose of massage therapy.

Nestled in a bustling area on the historic East Side of Providence, Revival Massage & Bodyworks is housed in the 1799 John Updike building. The office is conveniently located within walking distance of RISD, Brown University and the financial district.

I like how you can make your appointment online, and how you can add on extra services to your massage. 

However, the massage I received was disappointing. I had asked her to adjust the pressure a couple times and she was still a little rough in some areas, but then not much pressure in others. The foot "add-on" was not worth it, as I could have done the same thing at home. Overall, the massage was not very relaxing. Perhaps other therapists here may be better, but the one that I got just did not give a good massage.

I operate a small business in Providence, and we had our busiest, craziest night of the year a few days ago.  My brother decided I needed to relax afterward, and found Revival Massage, and set me up with an appointment.  I was late getting to the place (GPS issues in Providence,) but Morgan, my massage therapist, immediately put me at ease, and had just enough time between my appointment and her next one to give me a full massage.  

And it was wonderful!  I left the place feeling both relaxed and energized, and Morgan was very friendly and professional.  The whole setup is welcoming and cozy, and she told me that they do a lot of couples massages, which I think I will be doing with my bride-to-be very soon.  These two women have been in business for just under a year, as of now, and I certainly wish them success and recommend them highly; they seem to have a great operation!  Thanks, Morgan!

My boyfriend and I went for a 60 minute couples massage this past weekend.  We also added the foot revival for some extra attention to our overworked feet. Jessica and Morgan made us feel comfortable from the second we stepped in the door.  The whole experience was amazing.  We highly recommend going to Revival...we will definitely be back!

I have received amazing deep tissue sports massages from Jessica!  They are the best massages for any athlete or for anyone looking to unwind.  She is very professional and provides a great massage.  I highly recommend her to everyone!

I had the most relaxing unbelievable deep tissue neck and back massage. I have delivered mail for the last 25 yrs. and my neck is loaded with arthritis. I've had a neck/back massage before that really did nothing for me. I had no idea what a true professional massage could do for me. My massage therapist was Morgan, who made the whole experience completely comfortable and relaxed. A total professional. I have become a believer and will definitely be returning often. I highly recommend you experience a massage from Revival. An  A++ experience.
