Restaurant Vieux Duluth

Off the mill eatery, simple dishes, somewhat bland and without character. Service is friendly and helpful, useful when in a hurry, on my point of view, not the place to which you would plan dinner with your significant other but rather an emergency meal.

Went for dinner on a snowy Tuesday night. Easy parking. Inside we were greeted quickly and seated in a comfortable booth type table. The furniture and lighting gives the restaurant has a nice warm feeling. The menu selection is quite plain. I swear I've seen this menu selection at many places in Montreal area. I would describe it as generic Greek food. I ordered chicken brochette with fries and salad. The chicken was good but there was still a little pink in the meat. I ate them anyway except for one piece that had too much pink for my comfort. Fries were ok but the salad was gross. Iceberg lettuce with other vegetables shredded in the mix dressed in Italian type dressing. The salad tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for a week. One bite was all I could handle. I didn't expect a great meal at a chain restaurant but for $20 I did expect a decent meal. Maybe I'm just spoiled because Montreal has so many great restaurants that will serve you an excellent meal for less. This might pass for good food in Cornwall. Not Montreal. Another review mentioned a useful place for an emergency meal. LOL that was exactly my situation. But if you are reading this and wanting an emergency meal.... Go to St Hubert's up the road, or even Harvey's.

Bread you have to ask for was hard, the portions have gotten smaller prices have gone up and the baklava was stale. It was far from being fresh. Last time eating here. Very disappointed!!!

Overpriced meals and not worth your hard earned cash. Service is sometimes friendly, sometimes not that much.. depends on who you fall on. Bottom line, to me, a Brochette de Filet Mignon HAS to be marinated otherwise, you are serving simple Tournedos of Filet Mignon. Way too expensive and they don't know how to cook, period.

Mediocre. Over-priced. "Dish-sharing fine" and other petty nuisances that make this tired restaurant an ideal place to drive by without even glancing at it... Unless you are really hungry and don't mind waiting for a long time for OK food. To be fair their garlic shrimp were very good - or they would have gotten 2 stars.
