The food was so so with some disappointment. We were sitting upstairs. Behind the curtain there was a big group of people. It was a noisy group. The restaurant should have separated small groups and big party group. We should have left before the main course arrived like the other guests left after a drink. The food looks good but food wasn't that great. I had the beef ribs, the cast iron plate was hot but the meat was like lukewarm. The appetizers were better than the mains. Also suggest that the restaurant should improve the quality of fresh oysters. The server also missed an order. In summary, it wasn't a pleasant dinner.
This place is a gem. Visiting from Alberta and stopped by for their oyster Special. Stayed for dinner and Alex bartender and Dominic owner were amazing. Every item we ordered was simply delicious and complex. Do Yourself a favour and go here.
Lovely ambience. The design is very classic and the lighting is perfect- not too bright or too dim. The workers are bilingual and easy going. We ordered the escargot, cauliflower, lamb and crème brûlée. Everything tasted good and the portions were a good size. Our favourite was the cream brûlée because it was very creamy and topped with fresh berries. The only down fall was they did not have gluten free options stated on the menu so I had to ask the waiter to make sure what I wanted was safe. Other that than the experience was great. Thank you Le Cellier!
Never got disappointed in this place. Plates are tasty and done perfectly. Purées and sides are very delicious. You can randomly pick anything on the menu and it would be great. Perfect place for dates, friends gatherings and special occasions. Appetisers recommended: bison tartare, ceviche, bone marrow, and most of all the octopus which is so tender. Lobster risotto and bison main dishes are excellent. Their cocktails are well done.
This is a hidden gem I never knew about. The menu was varied with a fusion of Portuguese and French dishes. The presentation was worthy of a Michelin star. Overall our group could not say it was the best or the worst they had. The winelist impressed for such a small place. I enjoyed both the "chef's surprise" for appetizer and entree and neither disappointed. I had the deer, perfectly cut and cooked. The octopus appetizer was also a great hit. I can't believe I had not found this place before but rest assured, I will definitely find it again!
Very nice restaurant. The oysters were very good and the beef tartare was excellent! We also had the carpaccio which was very fresh. They have Vesper Martini
This place might be a 6! Halibut was very generous size and complemented with a delicious bed of vegetables and rice. Main course is a little expensive but wine and salad well priced. The atmosphere is cozy but lively. Without a reservation, we were seated at the bar which is very comfortable.
Nice setting in what used to be a house. The good is very nicely presented and full of unique flavours from what I can only guess is a very good chef. I had the chef's special, only available on Friday and Saturday. The core of the meal was a bird from Africa. I don't remember the name, but the meat looked like pieces of pork tenderloin but tasted like dark chicken. It was great but the portion was a bit small for me. I also had a piece of hazelnut chocolate mousse cake. It was just incredible. I bit pricey, but worth it.
Was acceptable last time I ate here. Will never go again. Called for a reservation and they could only offer a table @ 9pm. Upon arrival, we waited for 15 minutes then waited another 15+ minutes before the waiter came. She told us that almost all of the entrees were sold out and only a few of thr main dishes were avaliable. All kitchens close around 9:30 in hull and by the time we were told there was nothing left, it was too late to go elsewhere. It's a shame that we left another bar/restaurant in the area to make our reservation as it was excellent and struggled to find food after 10pm. If we had known, we would have gone somewhere else. Overall, it was a huge disappointment and we wish we had reserved at another restaurant that would have food available - waste of time.
Our new favourite in Gatineau. Was worried it would be 'stuffy' inside but it's got a modern relaxing feel to it and the food is delicious.Food: 5/5
