Café Cinq Sens

We just found this lovely little restaurant. The food is good and the young stuff is very friendly.

I agree with a few other reviews that ambiance between the staff and the cook is very awkward. It needs to be more respectful and warm. The food is amazing, no complaints. I go there regularly. The whistlening is nice too : Additionally. Seating arrangements have always been a weakness at this place. Almost no lighting at all. Only one big table taking up the entire room with windows. Now dirty dishes are also in plain view, prior they were hidden behind the counter. Anyhow. Good job, I think the owners will hit the mark one day, hopefully. Suggestion: have one of your staff be the manager, let them deal with clients professionally. Reduce the micro management! All the best.

I can't say enough good about this place! I would seriously drive the 600 miles from home just to be able to eat there again. The food is presented so beautifully, and tastes even better. I was seriously enraptured. My two teens were equally impressed. Their coffee was amazing, the type where you take a sip and are in coffee heaven. The hosts are a husband and wife team and their employees, and you can tell they put all of their heart and soul into it. Everything is made from the freshest ingredients, and you can tell. Plated beautifully and colorful. It is so worth taking a chance and finding out for yourself.

This is one of the best breakfast places in town, their prices are really good and the service is always really quick and super courteous. The coffee is self-serve, which I don't mind at all. I love their créole omelette, it is by far the best breakfast food I've had! I don't even look at the menu anymore, I just go straight for that. :D

Wonderful and friendly staff. 1990s prices, quality food. This is a little gem in the Ottawa/Gatineau area. I had the smoked salmon eggs Benedict with salad on a delicious croissant for brunch. 12$ It was spectacular! Will definitely be coming back to try other menu items. Nice way to start a Sunday!

The food is ridiculously good. It's eating 5 star cuisine at diner prices. The chef and staff are warm and friendly. The salmon is a gastronomical delight and the burger is one of the best in town. Can't say enough about this place. Happy my friends recommended it to me.

000000 stars .This was the most horrible experience ever . I went there with my brother under his recommendation with my daughter. We ordered breakfast specials for me and him and she ordered two pancakes and bacon. Our meals came pretty quickly but hers was 10 minutes behind which is unacceptable to not only bring the meals at separate times but to bring the kids meal so much later. Her meal ended up being burnt pancakes with whipped cream and berries which she does not like and did not ask for and a side of burnt bacon. At this point I was already pretty upset that her meal was so late and then it came like that. I sent the meal back explaining that it was burnt and that she did not like that stuff on it and that we did not want a replacement because we were already done our meals and she would eat somewhere else .Then the owner came out with his disgustingly dirty shirt and started barking at us that that's how the meal comes and that we were going to have to pay for it regardless. I told him we were not paying for that.He yelled at his waitress to put the burnt breakfast in a container and print the bill and bring it to our table which we clearly heard .I told him I was not paying for the breakfast and that he better get out of my face as he was standing over me in an intimidating fashion.He told us to pay and leave. What rude unprofessional arrogant cook/owner to embarrass us like that in front of everyone for his mistakes .Horrible horrible horrible . I would not recommend this place to anybody and I think it should get shut down. This is the worst of the worst. This man should not be in the restaurant business

This was one of the best hidden treasures ever! The services is friendly and welcoming. The interior is so unique and I love the self serve coffee bar and cute paintings. The food well the food was out of this world good. It was fresh and full of flavor every bite was a delight. It's a must try!

My daughters and I took my wife their mother out for Mother's Day breakfast. The food is was truly magnificent. Homemade croissants, banana bread and jam to start, followed by super-fluffy pancakes for the girls and French toast made with aforementioned homemade croissants for my wife and I. So what, you are probably asking, was the problem? Well, hearing the chef loudly, and with more than one f-bomb thrown in, berate his wait staff every 5 minutes really ruins the mood. No way in hell will I ever be going back there again, and I made sure to let the staff know, on my way out, why I felt that way.

Jason and Rosemarie. I wanted again to thank you for a wonderful brunch experience yesterday as we visited your quaint Cafe for the first time. The Coffee, Cappuccino, Banana Foster and the Bacon Cheeseburger's were amazing. I was searching online within the last week, for the perfect restaurant that we could make "Our Own" to celebrate as we did yesterday, our First Anniversary. I searched for somewhere that we had never been before, that had a reputation for amazing creations, a wonderful feeling of being welcomed, and not just as 'another customer'. Somewhere we can come often, that is intimate, when we want to come just the two of us to "our place", but also somewhere we can rave about too, and to bring our family and freinds. A place where we can recommend immediately when the topic comes up when someone is looking for a great meal with an amazing, welcoming, atmosphere. Somewhere we can't stop talking about to our friends, family and even strangers in hope that they take the time to come and enjoy the experience and wonderful dishes you create. We have definitely found that in 'Cafe Cinq Sens'. Thank You, we can't wait for the opportunity to try the other mouthwatering choices on the menu.
